Exactly! Whenever I see a cover but the guy starts singing on a pro-filtered mic with equalizer and echo on an acoustic room whilst the video is still re-processed on a voice enhancing software I immediately get out of there I look for something real.

You'll find it on YT pretty easily: a clip of Marr being interviewed and describing, musically, the construction of this particular tune. And Marr's like 'y'know I just diddled around with these 3 opening chords and then the verse just fell into place and yeah, pretty simple really' and all I'm thinking is well I'm just never gonna understand how genius works

My videos didn't garner any attention, so it was never necessary to put so much effort into things. It was just me and some friends watching.
