This full-length aluminum roof rack, for the 2019-2022 Toyota RAV4, expands on our lineup of tried and true rack systems. Great install video toyota makes it difficult on the new rav 4s for the roof rack removal but not to bad of a un install and sherpa Rack install 0:55

My 22 Rav4 only has 5 holes per side, holes 2 and 3 are now 1 and 2. I'm screwed. EDIT: Toyota got rid of the extra holes. All the ones needed are still there, and only the two larger rubber gaskets were needed. All installed and finished! So very pleased with the result!

Can anyone please help confirm the following? 1. Does this "not work with Panoramic sunroof" because you can't open the sunroof after? 2. Does it "not work with the Panoramic sunroof" because the sunroof is occupying space/holes/etc. the rack needs to plug in? I am ok with not opening the sunroof.

The rack does not sit high enought to allow the sunroof to open, but the rack can still be installed without issue so long as you don't open the sunroof.

Is there a torque spec for the hardware? Specifically, the hardware mounting to the vehicle.. I know you mentioned not over tightening and how it may comprise the water seal. Are there torque specs for those bolts?

Those are using our bonded washers so you are tightening until you see the washer flatten out and the seal on the washer compressing. You do not want to tighten them past the washer becoming flat or it can compromise the seal. Usually, this is around 22-inch pounds but sometimes requires a little bit more.

@sherpaec 22in-lbs is like 1/10 the torque that the Toyota specified factory rack hardware (26Nm in the manual). If I change out the washers from the flat/sandwich style to the outer steel/inner rubber style (designed to seal under load), can the rest of the structure in the stack take a larger torque rating (to factory spec specifically)? I have a rack on order, so I appreciate your answer.

Hi Johnny, we have not done any testing with those style washers and thus we can not confirm that A: you can tighten it to that spec B: that it would be a watertight seal. We have done ample testing with our setup and reccomend that you install as per our instructions.@@JohnnyHarrell

I have a 23 le AWD that didn’t come with rails are anything to attach to. Would I still be able to use this? If so, could I get the factory nuts from you guys?

Just ordered mine, but I'm a little curious. How long do these rubber plugs last? I live in Northern Michigan so snow and ice are a very real hazard up here. How does this product hold up in the winter? What kind of preventative maintenance do you recommend?

We don't have more the one winter season on this design. We do however have years of experience with the compound we are using with very few issues over that time frame. I'd 100% keep an eye on them and if any concern or issues arise we can gladly replace them for you.

It likely could. We are compatible with most universal rack mounting systems that are designed for bars. Worth asking Thule about their fitment requirements.
