It’s so awesome to see someone else who shares my passion for snowmobiles, AND arctic cats in particular. Your channel is like a dream come true for me haha I really started to take an interest in snowmobiling when I was about 13-14 years old I think. We had a 1980 jag 3000, 1991 el Tigre ext 530, and a 1997 Yamaha vmax 600 at the cottage that my dad was able to tinker with and keep running for the most part. Unfortunately there were a lot of times when the sleds weren’t working properly, but my dad and I were always able to figure it out. Unfortunately I don’t have the greatest relationship with my dad but going snowmobiling together was something that we both loved and could do together and I’m thankful for that. Now I live farther away from him and have my own sled. My dream sled. My 1997 Arctic Cat Thundercat 900. Got it almost two years ago now for $2000. Completely stock, really good shape. 14k miles on it and this past winter I put another like 750 on with absolutely no problems at all (other than self induced ones haha) Anyway there’s a bit of my story with snowmobiling. It is without a doubt my favourite thing to do and I’m thankful to have found this channel that is as passionate as I am about snowmobiling and old school arctic cats!

That's a great story I can relate to all of it, including the relationship with your dad. Life is a strange thing, but if we hold onto these good memories and live in the moment, it can be a beautiful thing. Snowmobiles have always allowed me to live in the moment and look forward to something. You should watch the movie "a river runs through it" changed my perspective on life, and it touches on the relationship they had with their dad. Their relationship was based on fly fishing but kind of the same concept.

I started driving my brother-in-law's brand new 1971 Moto-Ski MS-18 634 in the winter of 70/71. I turned 10 that Christmas. The next winter my dad bought a 1968 Olympique Super 370. A couple years after that he bought a new Moto-Ski Futura 340. A couple more years later I bought my own first sled, a NOS 1975 Olympique 340. Good times but I left home and snowmobiling, moved to a city for school and work, raised kids, etc. 14 years ago for my 50th birthday my wife and kids bought me a snowmobile. 2002 Yamaha V-Max 700 ER. Great machine but my best friend is a Cat snowmobile mechanic so a couple years later I went for an 05 T660 Turbo ST. Now I drive an 11 Crossfire SnoPro 800HO EFI. You owe it to yourself to try an early Firecat 700. The T660 Turbo sleds are wonderful trail sleds. My Crossfire's are just shorter versions of your M1000 sled, if it's "Old School" so are they.

Absolutely awesome collection. I always say, I have 3 sleds and 1 ass. Now, I realize, I'm ok. My first sled was a 72' Rupp Yankee 25 hp( 295), and it seemed like it ran great until it snowed. This was in the late 80's and my first ever purchase from a part-time job. When i was looking at it my father suggested buying a Cat as he was a rider in the 70's and owned a 71 ' Puma. My Brother is in the process of restoriing it. Anyway, my first brand new sled and purchase from a full time job was a 95' Arctic Cat Cougar 550L/C . Absolutely great sled for the price and fast for what it was. Eventually, I moved up to a 99' ZR 700, which I still own today. My buddy rode it this winter, which was pretty awesome. I also own my Father's last sled a 00' ZL 440. I currently ride a 2019 zr 8000. Which is great, but my heart is in the 90's cats. I think i just gave my life story on you tube. You might be like Dr. Phil for Cat- heads

My family started snowmobiling in 1969 when they bought a Arctic cat panther. Good old fashioned one lunger. I got into the sport when I was a little child riding in the cat cutter that my dad used to hook up to the back to my great-grandmother's sled. Throughout 2000 to 2010. We were super active in central mass running the Spencer snowbird snowmobile club. For a little while my dad was running the vintage committee in Massachusetts writing for the Sam's snowmobile magazine. Over the years my family has collected probably 30 to 40 snowmobiles most being vintage before 74. Today my fiance and I both ride f-800 trail sleds. I do miss riding these old sleds though they are a ton of fun. Going to have to dust a few off soon. Feel free to reach out if you want to chat more. If you're ever in New England would love to meet up.

Sorry Im late to the party. My dad was the one who got me started. He had a 1974 Arctic Cat Panther 340. He would take me out for rides every once in a while. And that's how I got introduced to sledding. My first sled was a 1980 Arctic Cat Kitty Cat. I got for Christmas when I was 5. I'd ride it around in my backyard after school and on weekends. Then I outgrew it. 😢 Had a dry spell for the next 10 years and then my dad got me a 1983 Yamaha 292 with zero suspenion. Had the bogywheels and was ok for a little while. Then I got the monster. A 1979 Arctic Cat El Tirge' 5000 w/500cc engine. That was a fast and fun sled. I haven't been riding in a number of years. 😢 I miss riding but have nowhere to ride.

Cool old Panther! I just got a 79 El Tigre 5000 to add to my sled collection that seems to be building more than it should, but it'll make a good pair with my 1980 Yamaha enticer 340 deluxe. Used to have Dad's 1991 Wildcat 700 but that thing had so many miles it got retired and I ended up just sticking around with a 99 Polaris Indy 500 XC until last year when I bought a 13 model arctic cat XF800 Sno Pro and that absolutely turned me into an arctic cat guy. Them mid-90s ZR chassis sleds just hit differently and the Firecat F series chassis were probably some of the best sleds built period.

Awesome collection!! Everybody accuses me of having a "sick" sled addiction!! , But I think you take the cake bro :-)😅 I'm a late to the game guy, only been riding since winter 2009/10. It was addiction at first braap! My best friend come ripping up in my front yard on my neighbors 1998 ZR 600 EFI limited and I was like "where in the heck did you get this thing" ?? He basically said, "shut up and just take it for a rip", I did and I was hooked! The next week My self, my neighbor and my best friend went sled shopping 🙂 I found a near mint 2001 ZR 600 EFI , my neighbor upgraded to a 2003 F7 EFI sno pro( Black) and my bf bought the neighbors old 98 ZR 600! We were a CAT pack. Since then I've owned LOTS of sleds, getting my 2 boys addicted as well 🙂 They both started riding @ 4 and 5 years old , they are now 16 and 17 years old. Started them off on Z120's and a 88' Yamaha sno scoot , moved them up to a 2000 Z370 and 1998 Ski Doo Formula 380, then to a 2001Z440 and a pair 2002 Z570 's and now they are riding my wifes 2016 Zr 8000 and I picked up a 2006 F7 sno pro for the other boy. So all my sleds over the 14 years starting with the first : -2001 Zr 600 efi -2003 F7 EFI Sno pro (red) -2005 F7 EFI Sno Pro (Green) -2005 Sabercat 700 EFI (green) - 1997 and 1998 Yamaha Vmax 700 triples (trailer package I bought for the trailer, didn't keep for long) -2014 El Tigre 6000 ( first brand new sled) -2016 ZR 8000 137 limited (all black, second New sled) -2016 ZR 8000 137 Limited (all green, for the wife) -1979 Pantera 5000 FC - all the kids sleds mentioned above 🙂 I'm hoping to buy a new Catalyst 858 soon and then start my classic "muscle sled collection", with the MIGHTY Thundercat first!! I want 1 from each manufacturer Thundercat 900 or 1000 Storm 800 or XCR 800 mach Z800 Vmax-4 800 My name is Patrick, and I am a sledaholic😝
