If you have to install a suction line drier due to acid contamination you need to come back and check for a pressure drop of two pounds and remove said drier after a few days of operation.- I like your videos; Also watch Curtis videos on Georgia and Josh Griffin in Va.

I went to A/C Maintenance found installers put filter drier back ward and found drain pan outlet plug installed on the higher not the lowest caused attic wet and ceiling damaged .

Nice catch on that liquid line near the filter dryer! If you take a crescent wrench, you can measure that up with your liquid line and then round out the kink itself. Won't be perfectly round, but won't be flat either 👍🏽🤙🏽🍻

Dude 2 months ago I went out to a call where the homeowner said the condenser was always noisy and it wasn’t cooling very well. His filters were dirty but I went up into his attic because he wanted me to inspect his ducts and the 7/8 line was kinked BAD. I somewhat opened it using the crescent wrench and just said everything was fine. 😂 he said, “huh I guess those filters were causing my unit to be noisy”

You should’ve told him about that suction line. Get credit for your efforts and attention

Big companies always have big bills. For 3400 they could just about put in a new heat pump unit.

The most common problem on ICP is the compressor wires rubbing against the suction line.but I'm sure you checked for that.

When a high voltage wire hits/shorts to the copper it usually blows a hole in the copper and dumps the charge. Not the case here.
@RobertTuck-vo8cwАй бұрын
Improper pump down procedure can destroy a compressor. Do no pump it down to below 1-2 psi. The refrigerant is cooling the compressor. Prolonged pumpdown can cause the compressor to overheat and burn out.
@myHVAClifeАй бұрын
They probably did not do a proper evac on the system as well.

The weird part is that those big box companies have more work than they can keep up with. All about marketing and advertising and the public eats that crap up. Heading out to run one. Thanks for the video. Stay safe out there.

Replace the compressor Charles, but you are right come on they should have replaced the reciever dryer, when they did the txv third time I watched this video. Hopefully this comment will stick. And what is it with all these so called professionals that miss little details come on it does not cost much more or that much extra time to replace the reciever dryer any time you open the system up. Then vac system down.
@myHVAClifeАй бұрын
They are just trying to get out of there as fast as possible!

@myHVAClife Exactky right Charles I sent 2 other earlier comments that disappeared maybe it's just me I am picky and detailed with everything I just need this lyme to go away with me. Please show a video on you correcting this nonsense. And , Charles I agree with you laziness and trying to get out in a hurry is not the way or disregarding hvac 101 which is as you have stated in almost every video I have watched showing including when Curtis opens a system or does a txv or compressor is when you open a, system you replace a reciever dryer other wize you get acid city or that green corosian I don't get why this is even a debate when it should not be. And Charles I hate while my boss said leave it alone come on and f it were me I would tell my boss to shove and quit as that's so not right or excuses like while the owner is just in a hurry as he wants to flip the place it's just common sense even if the owner is in a rush to sell you quote him the price with reciever dryer included with the price of a new compressor or a txv and you don't over qoute or over price. But with you 1500 sounds about right.

Did they use inert gas to install a new filter dryer? Would you? If they got trash in the system so you flush to lines to clean up their mess? I'm just a weekend warrior and install my own systems every few to several years and try to keep up with industry changes.

Unsure about the quality of their procedures. We came back and replaced the compressor, fixed the kink in the line, and replaced the filter drier. We do purge with Nitrogen on all sealed system work.

Gopro 11 INTERNAL MIC, Keep the res set low and at 1080 to save battery and prevent overheating.

It’s always the txv. Doesn’t matter what it is, it’s always the txv. Bad power? Txv. Fan in reverse? Txv. Popped cap? Txv. Sounds like a lot of moisture got into the comp oil and ate away at the compressor motor insulation causing a short to ground via the compressor crankcase, if the wires are still intact with the insulation not broken outside of the compressor. Also, I just saw one of the first comments about you being a rip off for a couple of wires: try replacing a compressor from start to finish; disconnecting wires, replacing a cap, properly recovering a full charge and pull unit into a vac, not blowing up the unit with nitrogen, proper brazing technique with fire watch and torch qualifications, etc etc etc…. You’ll be calling up someone like him to fix what you think is a “couple of wires”.

@vincentgelles3805Ай бұрын
There’s a little more to replacing a compressor than hooking up a few wires bud. If you’re pulling a proper vacuum it takes about 3 hours plus the 10 pounds of refrigerant, new filter dryer, etc. What do you do for a living? I’m sure whatever it is you provide your services for next to nothing right? Companies have to charge enough to pay their employees and keep the lights on, it’s a business not a charity.
@myHVAClifeАй бұрын
The compressor is shorted to ground. It needs a new compressor, not wires! You must be the GOOBER that the other company hires to do their dirty work!
@gabrielstern4992Ай бұрын
And sorry but 1600 dollars is way less expensive then a new system and a hell of a lot less expensive VS 3600 hundred dollars. There is the real way way and the clown way con job way I will take the right way every time.
