Locally we have new D-bag companies (not dirt bag_ that hire only Sales Techs, they show up in clean white shirts and go straight to condenser, Mam, you need a whole new system its over 8 years old w/o removing anything, just looking at data plate, they usually get run off but mad h/o doesn't want to give them their svc charge. Our facilities company hired one that had been fired and he wanted every unit he was sent to to be replaced by someone else, got canned real quick.

Absolutely right Charles the homeowner is not really saving but paying 50 dollars a month if something breaks thats 600 dollars a year they are spending when they would be better off paying thier local hvac contractor they trust the 100 to 150 a year for a maintanence service contract. And charles aftermarket consenser evap coils and compressors for old systems are still going to perform better than rebuilt remanufactured stuff heck I can work faster than those companies in finding parts for old systems. And then just pay the hvac company to put it in if it's, worth it. But you are absolutely right it comes down to find a competant hvac company you trust and can work with if those issues arise.

I remember being told that these hvac manufacturers were trying to emulate the high end car market years ago in a dealer meeting by some outside sales rep for a particular hvac brand. He warned the whole room back then with all of these constant SEER increases and refrigerant changes we were going to rapidly see change in the industry. Pack as much tech into machines as they can and make it all proprietary so that way only specialized dealers can work on and install a particular brand. This will raise up the cost of the equipment and demand premium prices for equipment. Then, people will need to finance the equipment because they can no longer afford to purchase the stuff outright. This will also drive up the want for customer's to purchase labor warranties to help protect them while they are paying for a system that they can't afford. 5 - 7 years ago, it was rare to see someone that needed financing to purchase a piece of HVAC equipment. Now 90% to 95% of people have to get financing in order to heat and cool their homes because they don't even have enough money in the bank to buy one. The only people making big money are hvac manufacturers, banks financing these systems, and third party insurance carriers on these labor warranties because their reimbursement rates to contractors are garbage. They are designed to be upgraded every 12-15 years now because to fix them outside the warranty period will cost an absolute fortune due to the rise in service related parts and the fact that refrigerants keep getting phased out every 15 years. It is a wild world and it is only going to get worse. Thanks for the video. Stay safe out there.

that looks like the(reactor) noise filter(torodal inductor) installed on the incoming Line power, before it goes into the inverter drive. Washers, refrigerators, minisplit, and even brushless tools use them. It needs to become a prerequisite before selling a customer an inverter driven system, if there are known power surge, brown out or excessive supply line noise. Don't install one of these! i wouldn't be surprised if special power filtering requirements come about as well as dedicated ground requirements for these unit. I would look into installing single phase load reactors on these.

@@josephbosack4408 except if you got a good quality laptop that will last longer than this trane will. But build your own desktop is the way to go. And even with state of the art stuff it's still lasts longer and, works better than these overpriced garbage. And yes you can get inverter technology that lasts without breaking the bank. Too bad you have to get one from a, Japanese company or south Korean company or Chinese con any but thets America for you always about bieng to greedy and proprietary.
