‘What do you do for a living ?’ I’ve always taken an instant dislike to people who ask me that question within 5 minutes of meeting me. Your job is not your definition.

It's a way of deciding someone's 'friendability' for a lot of people. Also, it's a similarly lame conversation starter as discussing the weather.

The dream we were sold is very boring, I have a much better life now I tore up the script and started doing what I really love, which is being out in the natural world as much as possible, the fear has gone and nothing really worries me anymore, it took 42 years before everything became crystal clear
@Stephie_L4 жыл бұрын
I wish I came to this realisation before all this covid crap hit the fan....when there was still some semblance of freedom. I understood too late why I was so unhappy with my life....and it was because I was following their script as to what it meant to be successful and happy.

Some of the stuff is good and thought provoking. He is a man with opinions who questions things, so encouraging others to ask questions. I think this is quite positive, however he can be too judgemental at times, suggesting we eat the wrong food, or believe the wrong stuff.That is his opinion but other opinions are just as valid, he does not have any answers. I don't think he would say he has to be fair. What i am not keen on is when he does his stuff in restaurants or other closed enviroments where people are unable to move away for a bit of peace if they wish. While he may have the right it can be irresponsible and dangerous to lecture someone whilst they are out for a quiet lunch or want a bit of peace.

Regards to Danny, a brave and intelligent man, shame a lot of people don't seem to get the message, or they feel that it is almost impossible to change things? and don't forget that unity makes strength, but that's exactly what is missing?

In plain fact, Danny Boy always selects the softest targets and often uses his megaphone and the presence of a camera as weapons against ordinary, decent working people. He is a moral coward, and once you scratch the surface he is revealed as just as much of a bully as the various police / security personnel / petty officials whom he derides.
@justinm26974 жыл бұрын
You're right. He is as much of a bully as people who have the power to detain and arrest you.

Oh good God, I've seen the guy outside the Tesco Metro in Covent Garden the other day... Wanted to have a nice, quiet pint outside the Round House pub just opposite, but couldn't because this idiot kept telling uninteresting things, mostly to French tourists anyway, about the horror of consumer society and oh-do-we need-it-no-we-don't. You are annoying, mate. You really are. Now you may be right, hell you certainly are, but being annoying about it won't change a damn thing. It might make things worse. On that day in Covent Garden I wanted to go in Tesco, buy something I didn't need and tell you about it just to annoy you back. It's lucky I wasn't in that Starbucks in Camden, or you may have been doused in piping hot coffee. And I would've gotten the large one, too.
@Joolzguides7 жыл бұрын
Oh dear. Yes, I can imagine he must be really annoying if you are trying to have a quiet drink somewhere. I have't seen him around for ages. I guess he's still up to his old tricks.

Fun London Guides - Julian McDonnell Films oh hi Joolz, didn’t expect a reply from you! I was wondering about something: I’m a huge London nerd, pride myself in my intimate knowledge of the city... but there’s always room for improvement. I was wondering if you offered walking tours for people like me, who want to know EVERYTHING about London? Like, the intimate little details of every nook and cranny...

There is such a thing as exaggerating for effect. Of course I wouldn't have scalded him. I barely would have scolded him. My point was, you can't annoy someone into doing something. Annoy them enough and they might do the exact opposite.
