R&B singer R. Kelly has been found guilty in his federal sex trafficking trial.
He was found guilty on all nine counts, including racketeering. Kelly was also convicted of criminal counts accusing him of violating the Mann Act, which makes it illegal to take anyone across state lines “for any immoral purpose.”
Dr. Brittney Cooper, associate professor of women’s and gender studies at Rutgers University, joins Shannon LaNier on “Black News Tonight” to discuss the social context of the verdict.

The jurors, and judges, and the police, do all kinds of stuff in their houses too; they live there. This guy probably did with these kids what they wanted him to do, that was the point of interaction between him and them, if he behaved abnormally, what is normal about their behavior? They stayed in a stranger's for longs of time. Interestingly, even if he taped them, there is nothing about that that says the "kids" did not solicit him, seduce him, or even asked for whatever he was doing, i mean we did not hear of anyone being tied to something. This verdict, if it stays, opens doors for a stranger woman to walk into your house then take her phone out and call the police accusing you of rape. We will be amazed when that happens, but that's what we just permitted with this verdict. This short term memory problem is found only in woman issues.

One of the women who the media tried showing to be one of these so called women being held hostage literally posted on Social media a video showing her side. She said she Chose to be living with r Kelly and that she would ask for money from him which she would later give to her mom to help her out. When she Had enough and decided to cut the money off from her she said her mom got mad and threatened to kill herself and some other manipulative crap. She Distance herself from her mother for a while but then her mom called saying she was sick and wanted to see her. The next thing she knows her mom is Knocking on her door and when she opens it a camera crew is there filming her too clearly make her look like she’s being held hostage when she’s not(you see her in video). Later that day she comes out freely to go out and talk to her mom about all of this. She eventually said she came back….Though she later on left r Kelly’s house because of all the overwhelming drama people caused.
