yes Cata is a fun experience. So is call of duty and fortnight. I don’t need to play cata when I have Dragonflight/war within if I want a more modern game. I wanted to play Wrath for 10 years. But no they are giving me the finger. So I left and went to Classic a version I haven’t delved into. so Classic and Classic+/ SoD is the goal of my gaming.

Same, and I think a lot of people agree with this. Cata is only for either those that are particularly nostalgic for it or curious classic players that never played. But the vast majority want a faithful Classic+ it seems

For me personally, I do not care about continuing with Wrath or Cata after they put the catch up mechanics in Wrath and the WoW Token. I love 10 man raiding but why would I want to do ICC 10 man to get maybe 1 or 2 upgrades when there is 251 catch up gear from doing dungeons and 264 gear in AH. When I came back ( I had to leave just before Uldaman ), there was no reason to do Uldaman or ToC raids. That ruined it for me. I was basically forced to completely skip all that content. Too much of that original WoW feel is gone. Excited for SoD. It's exactly what I want.

RE: the blood dps and “meme” spec discussion Bias: I love 2h slam fury in classic 😂 If you look at heroic marrowgar top parse dps rankings, blood is only 100 dps behind combat rogue, 200 dps behind enhancement shaman, and is only 15-25% worse than some of the other classes. Looking at the heroic 25 lich king logs, there are quite a few blood dps. The top one was the 2nd highest dps in their raid team. And, they were only 10% different from the top frost and unholy players. My point is: While I get that min-maxing is a thing and the “other people’s time/experience is valuable” argument, properly prepared raiders playing viable specs shouldn’t just be turned away on principle or due to lack of information.

I liked the 2H fury build in Vanilla, it was a bummer that it wasn't really all that viable on Alliance side without windfury.

No one is doing H LK without the buff. your talking about the literal top 5% doing him currently with a crazy amount of gear already so the buff is needed to have the content seen by more than the top 5%

​@Xius_WoW I disagree, the game becomes unhealthy when you see everyone and their alts running around in full bis because everything's a pushover. Then the game becomes stale. If there's no challenge, what's the point? Not EVERYONE needs to be able to kill every single boss, it creates exclusivity. Without exclusivity the special things won't be special. Just accept the fact that your group of raiders aren't good enough to kill X bosses and quit crying for nerfs/buffs so you can take part. It's not for you and that's fine.

Partly because you "smart" people want the same stuff for both factions we got a retail game which is impossible to have fun with for years. Faction differences in Vanilla weren't perfect but that was the whole point to make them different. THE OPTIONS AND DIFFERENCES are very important things in RPG games. I love draenei and blood elves btw but I think the game lost charm of choosing your faction with TBC.

i really hope that they screw over everyone who's practicing to get world first on season of discovery by putting runes that can speed up your leveling a ton a bit out of the way so they're found by people exploring instead of the people racing. it would be a blast to see someone win who didnt spend a ton of hours practicing

i really hope there's a lot of community pushback to people obsessing about gear or parsing to get a raid spot, i think the goal of SoD should be to make those types feel unwelcome and eventually quarantine them in something like a season of mastery so they can get their fix of being able to call themselves experts of whatever expansion they're nostalgic for. SoD should be for casuals or at least people who actually want to explore and get better at the game instead of people who need everyone around them to be experts already because they cant handle failure
