There are some odd motor oils colors. One day I was checking my walleye lures with my blacklight head lamp when I noticed two lures that I never thought would be UV reactive turned out to be totally reactive & changed colors on me. One is the Berkely hit sticks in Pink & silver color the bottom of the lures is actually a glow pain that only starts to glow from blacklight it was the oddest thing to find cause even Berkely doesn't say they glow, but they do. Then I've got some really old Wal-Mart Renegade motor oil color rubber worms much to my surprise the whole worm lit up to a totally different color with the blacklight on them.

Hmm..that's super interesting. Motor oil color was huuuuuge back in the 80's because it was the most natural-looking translucent color we had. Now, there's tons more, but I still prefer lures in colors that fish think are actual food. I'm gonna have to break out the black light now lol ..thank you for the additional info!!

After 35+ years I still used black and grape in our clear water...

Here, it's black with blue flakes that gets em in dirty water, or junebug. The bama bug colored pit boss I like is half green pumpkin, and half grape with blue flakes.

I've been fishing those colors for years and still do. I've never stopped fishing those. Try red flake pumpkin

Another color I find is under rated is straight up black. I’ll toss a 10.5 inch ribbon tail zoom monster worm in black during the summer and it’s dynamite

95% or more of my drop shot fishing is done with a 4.5" Motor Oil Pepper worm.

I've fished those. I'm not a big fan of the chartreuse tail, as if I'm fishing those colors, it's bc I'm trying to catch finicky or reluctant fish, and I want as natural looking of a lure as I can get

Absolutely! Right now I have it on a fantasista premier rod, but I was going to swap it over to a new rod for the summer. It's not exactly the lightest baitcaster I own, but it's definitely a workhorse that will get the job done no matter what.

Lol yeah it's a great color practically no one I know uses, but I've had a lot of success with. I'm right handed, so the learning curve is STEEP trying to relearn everything with the opposite. I'm glad you got em! Go have some FUN!!!

I have some motor oil Crappie Baits That sometimes it's a killer, Lake Country Baits Makes them,, H 12:50 hes got Several different variations of the motor oil , check Dennis out at Lake Country Baits, I'm not sponsored or anything like that I m passing on some good bait choices I use em Because they catch fish for me , I tie my own hair jigs as well, and use a few others that i been using for a long time, Slaters Hair Jig, A Few Bobby Garlands , Crappie magnets, gulps somrtimes , whatever works, But I Use more of the Lake Country stuff than anything Plastic Now just because theres colors I can't find anywhere else,, judt a friendly fishing tip , i fish way Way down Deep South East Mississippi, just run across your channel this morning, this crazy weather we're having down here is killing My fishing I swear, tommorow forecast is 45 mph winds 🥺and rain 🌧️ ☔😬 again smh 🤦🏻‍♂️,,, yeah you getting the same weather ,, o well it'll clear up Maybe later on this week, tight lines to Y'all 🐟🐡🎣🤠🇺🇸
