I don't think there's anything better than feeling snug in super soft clothing. So imagine having socks that are so, so fluffy that you feel like you're actually walking on clouds.

I used to work in a yarn shop, and in our "luxury wools" section, we had a few skeins of vicuna wool as well as a swatch of the yarn knitted up that people could feel. It really was the softest wool I'd ever felt - it was also $300 for a 25g skein! For reference it would take about 75-100g to make a pair of socks, so it would cost $900-$1200 to make one pair of socks, excluding labor! Of all the years I worked in that shop, I only ever sold one skein to a very rich old lady who complained that it was so much cheaper to buy it in Peru...
@chrissighful

I mean at that pricepoint it might actually be cheaper to go to peru to buy it (depending on how much cheaper it was over there ofc)

I thought it was Wool Chambers too. My wife just got her Big Wanger sized skeins of North Ronaldsey wool with which to make me the most waterproof of woolen hats, so of course it MUST be time for them to sponsor another video. in order to get the most money from my pocket. You go, WoolChambers! And the same to all the people out there who wish nothing else right now than to put their feet on a camelid's backside.

For me in your post-video question: the closest thing I would purchase that is super expensive would be dress shoes. But, they would last nearly forever so the price of ownership per year would go down. Next closest would be a few bespoke suits (not major designer, just perfectly fitting) from high quality fabric, and again the same reasoning applies. Beyond that, I cannot see any justification in exorbitant spending on items. I wouldn't need a super high end car or a massive house/estate.

“Id” when used as a suffix in animals generally denotes a group or class of animal. For example all cats are felids denoting the fact that they are in the family of animals known as felidae. So they technically aren’t camels in the same way a leopard isn’t a house cat.

as a Peruvian, the way you pronounce vicuna makes me cringe a bit, is vicuña (vi .cu . nya), oh well people pronounce llamas as "lamas", instead of iamas ( which is the correct pronunciation), but also there was one time, my sister's friend got mad at her because my sister was wearing a scarf made of baby alpaca fur, which she though that it was made by skinning the animal, which we don't, vicuñas, llamas and alpacas are sheared just like sheep and they do need to be shear, just like sheep, their fur soft and cold to the touch and it really warm and light when worn in the winter and windy days.

3:38 - Although not a camel, the vicuna is a camelid, and is roughly as closely related to camels as llamas are. Also they are the wild version of alpacas, so that's a thing too. So it's basically like calling chimps and gorillas apes, except that there's also a camelid that is actually called a camel. In other words: Well yes, but actually no.
