I'm so proud to be British, and so proud of our armed forces because they are the bravest and most caring of all the armies in the world. I am also proud of the Scots, Irish and Welsh because they are my friends and countrymen and women. I have an Irish ancestry and believe we can live together in peace all over the world. If only women were in charge!!!! ;-)

Paul Pablo Oh yes, the British (among others) have behaved appallingly in previous centuries, of course I wasn't born then. But then so have many other nations, none of our countries are entirely without sin wouldn't you agree?

***** I'm sure she would Jack. The royal family are not without their own dark past. All countries, well most western and middle eastern, have been involved in barbaric acts of cruelty in war, for power or greed. Some still are but we can't blame the whole populations for these misdeeds. This lies solely with the governments. I believe most people are good caring individuals. When mob mentality takes over humans are capable of the most horrific acts. One day we might live in peace but I don't think I'll see it in my lifetime now I'm 60.

I was speaking of past experience. I have learned to live a life without remorse, anger, fear, and shame - shame of what I have done to survive. But that is in the past - I still have some issues with loud pops and bangs, but not like I use too. And yes there is help, but the help I got was from droping to my knees and having a long hard cry and talk with God! And for the record I did not have PTSD I had what they called surivor's Syndrom - but again that is all in the past now I live for today

I would add, as an ex solider who has served his country, the irony is that those who have made the ultimate sacrifice do so in order to provide a freedom. for themselves and the ones they love. included in that freedom is the freedom of being an individual. which includes freedom of speech and thought. the men and women who are targeted by these haters are in fact fighting, and dying in some cases, for those rights. " don't ask for freedom of speech if you don't like what is going to be said."
