Sweep was always the best one. Bless him. I saw the Sooty show at a family festival in 2010 and it's aged amazingly well. Kids were absolutely hysterical! Sweep sang Nesun Dorma and had a bubble bath.

Sweep sweeps the board with Sooty and Sue as far as I'm concerned, he's a doggy force of nature, full of accident prone hilarity and super cute, no wonder he's the most popular puppet! I find Sooty a bit, well, dull... but he's a good foil for the spectacular, sublime and sticky taped Sweep! Sweep for President! PS Sue makes a very good traffic warden, she's ideally soo-ted to that jobsworth position! Excellent Sweep scenes. My fave one though is from the Richard era where he got his foot stuck in the tap and Sooty had to saw the bath out to get him to Richard!

It's funny. When Matthew took over Sweep stepped out and became even funnier. With Harry, Sooty always led the way. But when Sweep was on, he was one of the funniest personalities on TV.

Sweep was one of my favourite characters growing up, along with Sooty himself and Little Cousin Scampi. Not Sue though (bl**dy tell-tale tit, goody-goody she was). Used to like Butch as well. PS: It was a sad day in hell when Matthew finally retired in 1998. Not saying Richard Cadell is terrible or anything, he was fairly good and enthusiastic (he also helped bring back Butch who wasn't seen from the 1970s) but it just wasn't the same. A bit like when Roy Castle died, "Record Breakers" was never the same.
