Meadow was a fascinating character, an absolute narcissistic monster with no capacity to take responsibility for her actions, she is Tony and Carmela’s daughter. By the end of the series- despite all her intellectual Ivy League bullsh*t - she was well on her way to ending up as a mob wife.

Yeah that interpretation is not what David Chase intended at all. Chase started that while Meadow might not have ended up getting the high end career she had the intention of getting, she would also be smart enough to not end up like Carmela.

Eh, Meadow in the early seasons was a pretty typical upper middle class high school suburban kid. Kind of bratty and whiny, but the worst of her entitled nonsense was hosting house parties that got out of control. She worked hard in school and got good grades with the exception of her depression after Jackie Junior's death.

I think Meadow probably ended up with that Parisi kid whose dad was a mobster but he was a legitimate attorney. She possibly went to law school herself or maybe not. Maybe she would just be a wife and mom. At least she had a College degree. She definitely seemed capable of getting an office job somewhere and supporting herself. Plus if Tony was killed at the end the Sopranos definitely had some money stashed away and assets. I would be more concerned as a parent what became of AJ. He just seemed a soft, helpless idiot with no street smarts at all.

One thing that's meaningful about this sequence is that it's probably the beginning of Meadow's interest in going to medical school or becoming a lawyer. She feels bad about her friend who overdosed, but she doesn't want to admit that she played a part in it by hosting the party. Eventually, over time, she chooses law because, like Tony, she wants to excuse herself from her bad actions.
