In real life, James Gandolfini was this theatre loving, Shakespeare-appreciating hippie, from what many people who knew him say. Totally non violent, very Zen. So it's pretty amazing to watch him watch Pussy with such fury and what appears to be sickness at heart combined. He looks like he would like to kill Pussy and then himself. God he was such a talent. @@CarcassticVulture No you can't. If the boss tells you to go anywhere you can't refuse. That's why so many mob guys walk into obvious hit traps. They pretty much have no choice but to keep their fingers crossed it's not gonna be them because if the boss calls for you and you don't show up and you don't have a very good reason for doing so you are in serious trouble. Only way is if you just make a break for it and hope they don't find you, but as the Sopranos showed with other character mobsters not only don't have good job prospects outside of the life but most are so used to their easy money and cushy no work jobs and vices and power that they can't deal with the idea of leading an honest life even if it puts their life at risk.

I wonder what would happen if Tony gave Pussy a fighting chance for his life? They are all out on a boat some distance from the shore. The water on the East Coast off of New York/New Jersey is cold - to say the least - for almost the entire year. How long could Pussy swim back to shore before he succumbs to exhaustion, and drowns? If he makes it back to shore, and survives from catching pneumonia, Tony could easily inform Pussy that his membership in the "social club" is terminated, and if Pussy is seen, or heard from, by any other "members," or their employees, then Pussy will really "swim with the fishes - permanently."

@bob1986Ай бұрын
According to the mob code if you flip you die. You make an oath not to ever speak of the existence of the mafia to anyone not part of it under penalty of death and even then you're supposed to be subtle (hence why they always refer to it as "Their thing" or such and rarely openly say the word mob or mafia). If you even admit to the FBI that you're in the mob even if you refuse to cooperate you could be marked for death and anyone giving anything definitely so. The code requires you to basically say nothing and go to jail or even die for it, see the story of the unknown mafia guy at the Valentines day massacre who despite dying of multiple gunshot wounds that there was no gunfight and they weren't shot and told the doctors trying to help them they were fine until they bled out on the scene. Of course even in real life they don't always stick to it this strictly but that's how the rule is supposed to be. No matter how long you were an informant if you get caught you get whacked.
