It is.. and I've been out there.. it's a trip. There's a town in the middle of the Barron's where the folks are their own , odd. People. They even speak their own odd language. They consider themselves independent from the outside world.. like the amish.. cept they aren't religious and are semi modern. It's weird.

For all the shots when Christopher and Paulie were sitting in the blue van, it was shot on a sound stage at Silver Cup Studios. They had to act like they were cold and their breath was added digitally. Never would be able to tell if they didn't say it on their Sopranos podcast.

A little trivia as to why Tony and junior were laughing when Bobby came out dressed in the bright vest. The actor for Tony told Bobby to surprise him that day in the set as he was having a bad day. Bobby came out dressed like that with a dildo strapped to his waist that you don’t see in the shot. The laugh between Tony and uncle junior is legit and not part of the script.😂
@gacaptain
@gacaptain 10 ай бұрын
The original joke of that costume is that it had Bobby looking like Elmer Fudd. (People from our generation see that right away) And that had everyone cracking up. But something caused the director to have to keep shooting the scene over and over and it wasn’t funny anymore. That’s when the actor playing Bobby decided to use the “prop’ to keep things lively on the set.

Something I thought about - pretty much all of Tony's mistresses (not women that he just slept with on a whim, but the women he actually spent time courting and building an extramarital relationship with) seem to favor Barbara. Petite, thin, dark hair, pale. I mean, even Dr. Melfi sort of fits in some of those categories. Soft spoken, intelligent, reserved. Intimately aware of the chaos, but not a perpetrator of it.

As much as I love Breaking Bad, and I really do (easily in my Top 5 or 7 shows), it doesn't hold a candle to The Sopranos. Sopranos side characters have more depth to them than some of the mains in Breaking Bad. Also, The Sopranos didn't need to rely on constant cliffhangers and the "oh geeze, how did I wind up in this position" episode openers. And as far as the sheer number of iconic characters, The Sopranos takes it by a mile. The only thing I can say Breaking Bad did better was the sound effects lol, but thats really just a matter of when The Sopranos was made. All shows had cheesy sound effects in the late 90s and early aughts.

But Annabella Sciorra as Gloria was probably my favorite. The scene where Ralphie meets with Tony after the Poker Heist wrong, I could see Ralphie lying through his teeth to cover his ass. He didn’t say he was sorry or anything that might direct the blame to him. He just said “it’s terrible” at first, then he didn’t at all mention the gun was his or that he regrets telling that story of Tony’s Poker Heist. It was all him directing the attention to Jackie with a facade of concern. Ralphie’s never been concerned about anyone besides himself. After that, he appealed to Tony’s ego when he said it’s up to him, the complete opposite of how Christopher handled it. When Ralphie said I “I feel we should give him a pass” he’s actually covering his ass saying Tony should give him a pass because he doesn’t want him to know he’s partly responsible. What an evil lying sack of sh*t. Great performance by Joe Pantoliano.

"Pine Barrens" is the episode most _Sopranos_ fans put at the top of their best of lists, but I'd forgotten that "Amour Fou" came right after. I love Annabella Sciorra and think she killed it as Gloria Trillo. I'd risk my marriage and maybe my life to buy a car from her. We definitely seek out partners who remind us of whatever we learned love was when we were children and "drama" sometimes gets learned to mean love.
