Meadow n Carmela would argue Tony would do his best to try to keep the peace. Remember Phil n Johnny sack wanted Tony Soprano to hand over his cousin Tony B and he wouldn't? Remember when everyone told Tony his mother tried to kill em and he dam near killed the therapist or whoever brought it up? Remember when his uncle Jr and Jackie Sr had the sit down and Big Pussy didn't show but Tony made sure his uncle was unharmed. Remember the Russian Tony and furio fucked up for hurting Janice even tho the Russians had a right to do so? He even stood up n got Janice Johnny Sacks house after Bobby was killed for her pain and suffering. He killed his cousin to save him from a merciless death at the hand of Phil. Every time something happened to Chris Tony got revenge personally. U sound like a bitter fucking lady who only notices the bad things men do. U can't tell me he didn't care for his loved ones.

Carmela was a stay at home mom, that's just what was expected of her life, and I assume of most traditional Italian women. Carmela started acting out after Tony pushed her to the limit, he did that to his entire family. Meadow didn't want her mother's life so she decided to focus on school and a career. Tony and Carmela are terrible parents, and yet they still wondered why their kids were spoiled brats.

I think Butch was the most likely assassin of Tony; he gave Tony Permission to kill Phil, but was also the one responsible for killing Tony's brother-in-law. Getting rid of Tony was probably the best way for Butch to get rid of a rival and to cover up for his selling his boss out.
