Memorable scenes of The Sopranos TV Series. It was more than 2 years when James Gandolfini passed away. I miss The Sopranos, I miss Tony Soprano, and I miss James Gandolfini so much.
Sometimes it's good to come back here, and watch his greatest scenes over and over again. He was a very talented and fascinating actor. I hope these videos help to keep his memory
alive.

The great thing about this scene is that Tony has inadvertently fueled Livia's paranoia. Shortly after she finds out he's going to a psychiatrist, he comes to visit her, asking questions about the past, confirming her fears that "he goes there to talk about his mother". I think that's when she decides to have him killed.

I'll never forget when Carmella's dad tore into Livia at her wake ("How many ruined Christmases?") He'd have nothing of Janice's narcissistic white-washing and rationalizing. Remembering bad people as if they were good, just because they'd died is unfair to good people. Man, the depth that the characters of this TV show had was unreal.

Like literally every actor the series Nancy Marchand was an absolute OG of an actor to play Livia Soprano. Anyone who has worked with salty older folks knows how perfect she was as a twisted woman. Every time I watch her play Livia I am pushed to suspect if Nancy herself knew someone as such as Livia.

Exactly what Tony needs, he's acting Boss of the family and he's guilting his mother for a better life. He could have stayed out or moved but he stayed in Jersey and he took the Oath. His mother is so right to tell him like it is. She's put up with alot of bs. Tony tugged her strings with that one and she retaliated.

Then there's the flashback episode of Tony's mother in the hospital fearing for her life, and both Tony and his father lied not to be there. But yet again there was a flashback episode of when Tony was just boy and his mother threatened to cut him with a knife... so I have to say that she was the true psychopath.

LOL, Well 1 you have that dude who hanged himself after getting millions form a will. He is suppose to be Tony's muscle and tough. He even beats that one dude for breaking balls who is connected not giving a fuck. All of a sudden for the purpose of the episode showing that you cant just get out of that life. They have him win millions from a will, be stressed out not only about that, but his kid doing drugs and then he is a rat to the cops. I still dont get Steve Buschemis 180 flip as well. Doing all that work to go straight and is about to open his massage parlor or what ever the fuck he was doing and all of a sudden snaps and beats up that Asian guy. For the same purpose of showing that he cant escape the life.

So, the inference here is that if Livia had supported Tony's dad in going into business with Rocco.....the Sopranos would be "billionaires" as Livia mentioned. Although, I guess Tony & Carmella wouldn't have met in such a scenario. *flares eyes* "I don't know what you're taaaaalkin about!"

I always found Livia quite hard to understand, like did she really want Juniour to whack Tony or was it just she didn't realise what was coming out of her mouth, because of times like when she set fire to her kitchen and ran over her friend with the car . I always got the impression Livia was borderline personality, but in her older years had some dementia with it, and because of her selfishness, neurosis and misanthropist way of thinking would say stuff without thinking what the consequences would be or fully knowing what she said.
@robshastri1346
@robshastri1346 4 жыл бұрын
Arse Robinson She was royally pissed off about being admitted to the Senior home, instead of living in Tony’s house. And so she poisoned Junior’s mind, hinted he should whack Brendan (which he did) and ultimately made him paranoid that Tony & the Captains were about to make a move on him. She certainly had her issues with clumsiness, being physically incompetent, etc. But in Tony’s case it was stone cold vindictiveness. Even when she inflamed Artie Bucco by telling him it was Tony who had his restaurant burnt down....she was wheeling & dealing against him to the bitter end. The writers did a great job of showing that even though her physical health was in major decline, her mind was as sharp as ever.

the thing that is inherent to the sopranos is the psyche of tony , it kind of gets overlooked after the seasons mounted up but this man was raised by two psychopaths and was surrounded by many more and he imo genuinely struggled to break free but went worse than all the rest , it was a vicious cycle and the sad fact is the wonderful gandolfini got eaten up by the same thing ,his weight gain was to play the part better ..i am not in any way speaking bad of a dead man as he was a wonderful actor and by all means a great person too but the role took a toll on him
