The technical analysis is the best part of the videos, it's hard to find content for intermediate & advanced artists like this online.

its an evolution of traditional japanese art, at first his idiocincracies made it so unique and cool it didn't even register to me as traditional art but you can definately see it best in his non final fantasy art.

Wasn't a fan of him at first but recently one of my favorite artists especially after seeing some works from this video!

The best way to describe Amano's style is a dreamlike illusion where are the characters are in a perpetual motion. It is very rare to find any of his characters stiff and static (unless that is their character trait) but he always knows how to make them interesting and mysterious. Not many people can do illustrative works like hmthis and adds why Neil gaiman and other creators have asked for his hand and other projects! It's very hard to believe he was the original character designer behind Gatchaman( AKA GForce or Battle of the planets) before being the main illustrator of Vampire-Hunter D and FF! I always look forward to seeing his works and artbooks! Even with Tetsuya taking over as a main character designer on projects, I'll never forget the concept work of Amano!

his style is so spectacular and unique, i'm enamored with all the little details he incorporates into his works. they're well composed but flowy at the same time. he manages to balance these different elements incredibly well. he's a huge inspiration. thank you for your analysis!

Amano for me always shines in the composition of the character to the background. There is always a meticulous understanding and iteration of a Main Curve, often forming the gestural pose of the character, that is then contoured and diverged and converged in foreground and background detail. This gives Amano's work a very distinctive dynamism and bilateral movement, as if the canvas is being pulled in two directions.

Yoshitaka Amano’s art styles is very mesmerizing to look at and he has done a ton of work for games besides Final Fantasy as he pieces for franchises like Tomb Raider and Cuphead as well as designing a skin for Fortnite named Crossheart which has a loading screen art in his styles and plus the team translated his art style into a 3D model when making the actual skin.

His recent work on FFXI is my favorite. You can see his style but it’s a bit more restrained and in line with more anime focused styles.
