Welcome to my channel! This is Andy from I love languages. Let's learn different languages/dialects together. I created this for educational purposes to spread awareness that we are diverse as a planet.
Special Thanks to Indra W. :D
Bengkulu: Malay
Bahaso: Bengkulu
Region: Bengkulu Province, Sumatra
Native speakers 66,000 (ethnic population)
Language family: Austronesian
Bengkulu or Bengkulu Malay is a Malayic language spoken on the Indonesian island of Sumatra, around the city of Bengkulu. It is more closely related to other Malay variants in Sumatra such as Col, Jambi Malay, and Palembang Malay as well Minangkabau spoken in neighboring West Sumatra than to the Rejang language, which is also spoken in the province.

I think this is the time of Malay dialects videos that were uploded by this channel. From Benteng, Anak Dalam, and now Bengkulu. We will wait for other Malay dialect videos.

Ever since I found your channel I've always wondered if the languages/dialects showcased in this channel really sound like how everyday natives speak them, as opposed to, y'know, simply an outsider imitating their accent. Now that you uploaded my own tongue (which very surprised me since I considered it pretty obscure), finally I can confirm it as true, not to say how blown away I was by how you really managed to get a native speaker to do it. The amount of researches and representation you put into this channel is truly amazing and that's absolutely an understatement.
