It has few ethnic, fx, and fretted sounds for being roland's flagship. I have a Fantom-s and it has the same sounds in those categories.

roland is still doing it.the zen core is just a fantom,and the supernature is only a more carefully sampled instrucment with more keys and longer piece of sample

Yes, it's worth buying if you can find one nowadays. It's one of those keyboards that offer DAW-like functionality with a mouse attached and also offers polyphonic aftertouch pads and keys which is rare for more recent synths of today.

Hey there Paul. Thanks for the video buddy. I'm wondering, is there a way to dim the brightness of the Roland Fantom G's screen? I haven't seen any physical knobs on the back panel, but i'm wondering if there's anything in the settings that will allow you to control the screen's brightness. In the evening when the sun has set and there's not much natural light coming into the room, dimming the screen will be necessary. Also, when you record a song with the Fantom G, will you lose it when you power off the keyboard, or will it automatically be saved? Thank you in advance.

Unfortunately, there is no user setting to control the brightness of the screen, although Roland could've easily implemented in their firmware. If you don't explicitly save your song, then it will be lost when you power off the keyboard - hope this helps you.

@@fmagic2000able Thank you my dear brother. That does indeed help. Someone said something about going into "Permissions" in the settings and there you could dimm the screen. However you have actually used the keyboard, so you should know what's possible with it. If you haven't tried the (Permissions) option in the settings, give it a shot and see what happens and let me know how it goes. Thanks again buddy for your response.

@@shadrachjackson752 There is no "permissions" option in any of the settings which would most likely be in the System menu. The only option I see is for controlling the brightness of an image is thru v-link which has nothing to do with the LCD on the keyboard. Also, I mentioned that Roland could have easily add it in the firmware because you can control the LCD by putting the keyboard into diagnostic test mode and can control it that way. Perhaps, the info you got was having to do with v-link, not the LCD or maybe they were just misinformed. On the other hand, maybe the info you got was thru what was posted at the this link: forums.rolandclan.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=32683 The setting mentioned by someone there controls the dimming thru screensaver transparency, not for regular use. @@fmagic2000able You are absolutely right. It wasn't (Permissions), it was (Transparency). I was just referring to a response I got last year from a seller on Reverb, saying "go to Transparency settings and move the glare to whatever you need". I'm Not sure exactly what that means, but What you are saying must be true. Thanks again bro for this information. I appreciate your help and input.

Is it just me but all the basses sound the same, so do the strings, horns and pianos...you can subtract half the sounds in this board and won't lose nothing. I live this board but when I go through the sounds they all sound the same. Thanks for the preview button, I wasn't aware of it.
