@therealkindle536510 жыл бұрын
It's a very clever song. At first it climbs up constantly & builds as notes are aimed upwards, then, a sudden turn during the interlude where it all goes calm - the notes start falling down like dead leaves in the autumn. The climax ensues, the crescendo resumes, & the phasing effect gives you that phychadelic 'finalé' ethos. It's a very well done track. Who ever created it had a vision, & wanted to break all the rules that the preceding 80's abided by under POP culture. The 90's was a time when the musicians were back in charge. The Prodigy, Chem Bros, Portishead, Massive Attack, Morcheeba, everything turned Dark & Edgy with a real sense of beauty from realizing the power a loss can have on someone. Even Madonna turned dark with Frozen, Michael Jackson released his poignant Earth Song, & even the fucking Spice Girls pitched in with the melancholy strings quartet backed 2 Become 1!! Of course, the Goths had to go & ruin it with Evanescence! And if you look where Metal is now.. All the emotional aspects have been bread out of it. It's all gone. Anyone hear wanting to hear that quirky Trip Hop sound today; go & listen to "Elsiane - Paranoia". Anyone who digs the piano in this might like the fervently simplistic approach of Ólafur Arnalds - Fok. But there really is not a lot of great music out there anymore. It's a cultural darkage thanks to spotify's pop rewards system & the midi-kids generic club scene.

Back in the 90's the UK wasn't as toxic as it is today. Sadness wasn't depression. We didn't have any problems with creating sad or melodramatic songs. It was a melting pot of all cultures, creeds, & colours. Didn't care. Massive Attack proved that. We can't go back. Only forwards.
