Darlington is badass, old school NASCAR. I went to the Southern 500 in 1987 and 2018. Already have tickets for the spring race next year. Every fan of the sport needs to go there once for an unforgettable experience. The museum behind the backstretch stands is great for those that want to get a feel for the history of the track.

My first time back to Darlington since I was a kid with my dad and im 52 now.. To be honest I didn't recognize the NG Mustang until after it had past us sitting in turn 4. We heard an awesomely loud v8 sound down towards the start/finish line and we're like 'was that Mustang the NG Car!!" Seeing this video is exactly what I'm been looking since the race! Thank you Eric!!! We will be going back to Darlington for sure !!

I can agree Eric Darlington is a must see event, I got to go in 2020. It literally gave me an old school vibe with the bleacher seat setup, it kinda felt like a local short track, or dirt track

Absolutely Eric!!!! I've been watching NASCAR since 1986, Darlington has always been 1 of my favorite tracks. I always look forward to Darlington race weekend. Great video as always Eric. I think its because of the diffuser it reminds me the old blown diffusers in f1 years ago
@simoneburini40363 жыл бұрын
@@Racingclipsandpics not at all... The sound of the blown diffuser was due to the throttle being left a bit open in order to increase the amount of exhaust exiting the engine, then directed to the diffuser. The actual diffuser didn't have anything to do with the sound.

I’ve been to Darlington 4 times - twice in the spring and for the first 2 throwback weekends. Great track! One of my favorites! Side note: the first time I went in 2012, a blind lady was inspecting coolers and backpacks.

Some insight on why so many tracks run out of water: I work as a manager at a grocery store & handle all the orders. We’ve been told by our supplier that the big brands Nestle, Ice Mountain, Desani & Aquafina, are all having production issues. Which is making it difficult for us, or anybody to get any water. When we do, we only receive maybe 10-20% of what we order.. I can’t speak for SMI or ISC or whomever is responsible for track concessions, but I imagine they’re having similar issues. Which is likely why you’ve noticed the trend of running out of water so quickly.

Eric has traveled to more track just this year than Obaika Racing has for their whole career… lol
@Austin_Windric3 жыл бұрын
Obaika got screwed over by the charter system. They were faster than the chartered cars at Talladega 2018 but they didn't get in because the charter system sucks. That pretty much started the descent of the team.

I still wish throwback weekend is on the southern 500. I mean, that race could be on every Nascar fan's bucket list, but not for me. I live in Owensboro KY, not south Carolina. Just can't attend race in stands. Also, my favorite Nascar driver got fined for $50,000 for accident on pit road that was too intentional after the race.

There's nothing like the smell of a race track! They used to have a parade in the city of Darlington with an Official Ms. Darlington Trophy Girl...lol The city was like a big fairground, it must not be like that anymore? I wish Steve Phelps & O'Donnell would go back to the NFL. We don't need them signaling their virtue. They're driving away older fans that don't need virtual reality experience or gimmicked up races with stages or playoffs to crown a champion if he wins certain races instead of having to constantly perform week after week
