Thank you for these videos. I am very anti- Calvinist, but didn’t really understand what Arminianism was until you made it clear. That said, I align mostly with Arminianism, but don’t like to call myself an -ist of any sort, after any man.

Good explanation Steve. I believe and agree that God's sovereignty doesn't violate His attributes. Also, if we were created at His image and likeness ( meaning emotion, reason, and will), how can we exercise the will if we aren't free to do so?

Good point. Many Calvinists don't seem to believe God has free will. They may not say that, but they think he has to do everything he does because it was formerly decreed or known by him. Many bring up the fact that the Bible says he is immutable and think that God cannot do anything new. This immutability actually refers to His character. Because of this, many Calvinists teach God does not have any emotions, can't be happy, sad, grieved, angry, delighted, etc. We see the opposite in the bible. So the hundreds of times the Bible describes God's emotions, they claim they are just anthropomorphisms - just a way for God to communicate with us tiny human beings so that we understand and relate on a small scale. These beliefs are just Greek philosophy repackaged. - Jason

This is a red herring argument. Because you wrote "many Calvinists." Who are they? We were created in God's image. Now, that image is distorted by sin. No one can believe in Christ or even do anything good in God's eyes on their own Rom 3:10-12

1:17 - 1:50 when calvinists react like the God they claim is true ... double speaking with hidden meaning and complaining you don't understand what is plainly said

I’m confused on what kind of an Arminian Steve is. He denies total depravity which means that rules out classical (reformation) Arminianism. It doesn’t seem that is a Wesleyan Arminian. Do you what kind of Arminian he is? Neo Arminian?

Why does it have to fit into a box. Isn’t the attempt to understand God not see which box we fit in best
@thebark_barx62319 ай бұрын
@@thomasmarchese2808 and these are views in the history of church that was understood about God. Prove anyone long enough on what they believe soteriology or eschatology or whatever doctrine and you’ll see that they indeed agree or fit in a “box”. Nothing wrong with an “ism” when we try to some up a theological view we got from God’s Word. I use to not like it but it is very helpful. I have changed my mind because it saves breath unless someone has never heard of any differing view the have understood

His sovereignty is not biblical sovereignty where God controls every thought, action, movement and molecule there is.
