@@micahw83 yes it indeed does, particularly the United States and the West in general. I have always admired the US, the idealistic and enlightened notions that gave birth to the American republic, which at the same time confronted the reality of the human condition. Yet that idealism and enlightenment values are the bedrock of the American nation indeed the US is the product of the enlightenment. However as we see today neo Marxism and the desire for the collective to outweigh the rights of the individual are all too apparent. Enlightenment values which are the cornerstone of modern western civilisation are being attacked by the far left in the form of cancel culture, the need for self censorship, political correctness and so on. It is a clash between authoritarianism/ collectivism and enlightenment values. It is also an economic clash that seeks to subvert the gains made by capitalism in the name of “social democracy.” One would hope that ultimately enlightenment values are able to overcome this period of incessant attack, since if the far left are successful in completely altering the foundational values of the west, then ultimately stagnation and decline are the likely conclusion or even a new dark age where reason is completely done away with.

@@sanjitbolina7481 Collective vs individual in humans is the same answer as to meat vs plant. The answer really lies somewhere in the middle. Capitalism and Communism both got most things wrong in their own ways. Most of human history is groups competing with other groups. My biggest problem with the modern US is it just claims to be a republic of free individuals but the American reality is more like a state sponsored aristocracy.

One thing that the video got wrong is that even though there was only one candidate per election the candidates werent always elected. After Stalin the party used the "elections" as a performance indicator for local officials. If the majority of people in the area didnt vote for an official the party was actually most likely to replace that candidate with someone else and run the election again.
