Good stuff! A small note: your onboard smoke grenades unfortunately will not block thermal vision, but some of the artillery smoke shells will, and those are typically the ones we give to the Pact forces in missions.

Important to note, T-64A (variant in the game) is the only T-64 variant that uses a coincidence rangefinder. T-64B (began production in 1976), which was the most common model in service with Soviet forces in Germany until the T-80B (1979) replaced it during the 1980s, was fitted with a laser rangefinder.

The T-64 is a fascinating vehicle. Any engine nerd who hasn't looked into its powertrain is missing out! It's a 5 cylinder, 10 opposed pistons, two-stroke turbocharged diesel engine. As with many advanced armoured vehicles of the USSR, it was a product of the talented engineers from Kharkiv, Ukraine.

it's a shame the engine doesn't sound quite like it's irl counterpart. it sounds orgasmic irl, almost like a massive dirt bike engine.

it was produced in USSR, by Soviet people. If those engineers heard you accentisizing their national allegiance they would laugh at you and call you mad.

@@panterka.f No, they wouldn’t, Ukraine was always persecuted by Russia and would be proud to stand on their own (like they are now) out of under Russias boot. (See Russia trying to delete Ukraines language, trying to get rid of Ukraine and its people, the Holodomor, etc)

I wonder if they're going to add commander's sights to the game (or rather, really, when). It'd be cool for it to provide more of the experience of being "buttoned up" that Squad '44 particularly (formerly Post Scriptum) does really well.

splitting crew stations is planned but not full interiors rather they will model periscopes, commander's sight and other such things

leos for sure. leo 1 is already modeled in game and it's planned to release sometime soon. who knows when though. british vehicles im not sure they'll do. they joked about it on reddit and i believe said that they'll perhaps add the brits in a content update after the main content is fleshed out. but its not guaranteed. bear in mind that this is from memory, and my memory ain't very good lmao

That would be really cool, though currently they're only working on a 1985 setting for the Fulda Gap specifically, meaning for now we're only going to get the US, Soviets, and East/West Germans. Leo 1 and Leo 2A3 are confirmed though

Not sure if you just decided to turn the subtitles off, but if they aren't showing, turning them off and on again should fix them (did for me and that was advice from the one of the devs IIRC).

Hi Wolf, have you looked into WARNO? Cold war gone hot RTS set in 1989. The planned (not out yet) army general campaign seems like it could make good content for your channel when it drops.

1:07 the T-72M1 and M have a better FCS with T-64A but much worse compared to T-64B it may seem like an small point but this might mislead people who do not know about soviet MBT ( or only from GHPC ) to think T-72 had a better FCS period when in reality it is only partially true

If you pivot steer in place and use the smoke generator you can obscure yourself if needed. They really need to make this game coop at least for two people

Was waiting for a TOW to lite you up (just didn't think it would be your vehicle). The T-64 wasn't new (or T-72), but the new BMP (new missile and auto-cannon) were thought to be thin on the ground ('83-'85).

I think the T-64A was still the main Soviet tank in this area and timeframe, so even while not the only one I think the workhorse term is quite fitting, given it's a 10-12 year old design at this point.

I dont understand why Combined Arms Sim's like this one and Steel Beasts just refuse to give players a decent level of control over infantry units. Its such a shame, and one of the reasons i wont be getting this game (and dont play much SB anymore)

Basically speaking when you find a target and try to rangefind it two superimposed image appears and you try to combine the 2 images to get the correct range.

The main user of the T-64's is still In Ukraine, the Donbas militias did use them from time to time but Russia itself barely use it.
