I've been contemplating it. It's quite a drive and I'm relatively close. I just looked it up. It would take 14.5 hours, driving 1006 miles. That's like 1600 km. Or it's a 5 hour flight. The flight is sounding better even though it's expensive.

Hi all, it’s the ship for getting us out of the earth and then allowing us to build bigger things in orbit. Make special variants, launch to space and use them to meet your needs. Moon and fuel storage then maybe a module for crew on longer trips with a starship for descent. Stainless steel is sooooo good. Take care all M

About "noise" being the main reason for the water system: I think it would be more accurate to say that it is the *acoustic energy* that needs suppression because its concussive force damages structures (not because noise would be annoying to people, say).

12:15 The thirty one engine fire was said to be more quite than SpaceX expected.
@brianmcginley7215 Жыл бұрын
Yes that's true. And it's not gonna anywhere near one of the loudest noises recorded. Rocket engines ARE very loud but it's a steady-burning on CH4 and O2. ---- but any decent sized chemical explosion, TNT, RDX, C4 etc, of perhaps a couple of tons or more would be far louder. A few flaws in this video (like a the graphic of the ENTIRE Booster+Starship landing on surface of Moon which will NEVER happen as Booster never leaves earth's atmosphere, plus the HLS Starship will look quite different to this test Starship) but ....overall not bad.

@@ChrisBrengel Oh puh-lease, smh, if Starship/Super Heavy were to blow up on the launch pad it would probably only destroy about 10%-12% of Texas ;?D
@ChrisBrengel Жыл бұрын
8:13 "They accidentally blew some stuff up, fixed it, they tested it...again..." LOL! There is SpaceX's iterative design technique in action. Elon has said something to the effect of "if you aren't blowing things up every once in awhile you aren't learning enough and you are going much too slowly." Being funded by the U.S. Congress, NASA can't afford to blow anything up...ever. It's not an accident that SpaceX is a private company so Elon can do whatever he wants (including blowing stuff up) and doesn't have to justify it to anyone.
