Your arrival in Bolivia will always be good news. On your tour of Latin America I had the opportunity to get to know other sister countries, each with its own particularity. Potosí, the Imperial Villa, as it once was, in history. You know a lot about our history. Enjoy ALL SANTOS in Potosí, Bolivia. How different Mexican customs are from ours! But there is something particular that unites us and it is a popular celebration, deeply rooted in our customs.

@PilgArt Explores -The Traveling Viking. The way and speed in which you speak is perfect for those of us who are Spanish speakers but also speak English, the summary of the history of Potosi is very well done. The Spanish came and stole all the silver from Bolivia, not counting the criminal acts they committed against the community members, however today Bolivians need a visa and a lot of restrictions to enter Spain, it seems illogical to me. Someday I would like to see a video of your hometown and what things changed after they were invaded, since I understand that the Vikings had their own beliefs and customs.

The tradition doesn't come from Mexico. The Day of All Saints, or "Día de Todos los Santos," is celebrated on November 1st and is a significant observance in many Christian communities around the world, including in Spain. While it is not exclusively a Spanish tradition, it is an important day in Spain due to the country's strong Catholic heritage. On this day, people honor all saints, known and unknown, who have attained the beatific vision in Heaven. In Spain, it is customary for families to visit cemeteries to clean and decorate the graves of their deceased loved ones with flowers and candles, and to attend Mass. This tradition reflects a widespread practice in many Catholic countries. However, Spain has its own unique customs and foods associated with this day, such as "Huesos de Santo" (Saint's Bones) and "Buñuelos de Viento," which are traditional sweets commonly enjoyed during this time.

Man, you are saying so many mistakes. I'm just gonna point out some, and as a Bolivian, gonna request you to be more careful when you decide to approach historical events. 1st you say "this city used to be one of the richest before the spanish came". The land where the city of Potosi is located nowadays was not populated by anyone, it was just empty land, The Spanish created and founded Potosí after they discovered the silver mines of the rich mountain. So.... you can't say "this city was the richest before the Spanish",.simply because Potosí is a creation of the Spaniards. 2nd, in your title, you say the Spanish stole ALL THE SILVER, which isn't true. 1st of all for the pre hispanic cultures like the incas, the minerals didn't have commercial value like in Europe (which includes your country, Denmark). For the pre hispanic people metals like gold and silver had only religious and ornamental uses. They didn't use it to trade, they didn't see them with any commercial value like in Asia, Europe and North Africa, so... can you say it was "stolen"? It's like if nowadays martians come and they start taking our rocks, rocks have no value for us, would we consider they are stealing us? I don't think so, the concept of stealing comes from the idea of taking something of value away from someone,.which didn't happen. Before the Spanish came no indigenous civilization in the americas had people extracting minerals, they didn't develop metallurgy so... yeah, minerals weren't important for them. I have to add to that the fact that after the independences, these new countries extracted WAY MORE than during the viceroyalties because of technological advances. Tons of silver and tin were extracted, literally making few people the richest people in the world at that time, and that's Bolivia as an independent country, nowadays oxides with high value in the market are being extracted but people keep crying about "spain stole". Oh, btw only 20% of what the Spanish extracted went to the spanish crown, the rest remained in the americas. Why did I bother writing and pointing out this? Because as a Bolivian I'm tired of people from this country growing up with that loser mindset. People have to understand that what happened before is not as bad as we are taught in the schools, and more importantly people have to understand that what the governs did during all the independent period is way worse than what the Spanish ever did. Without self-critic and just living in legends that are wrong like the one you mention (spain stole ALL the silver), bolivian society is condemned to be ignorant and mediocre forever. That's why I request you to study better some historical aspects if you decide to approach them.

There is no Day Of The Dead in Bolivia. That is a Mexican tradition. In Bolivia we celebrate All Saints day on November the 1st thru the 2nd. Just to clarifying things. I don't know who told you about dia de los muertos. Maybe Bolivians now call it like that since they tend to copy trends. Same like in the US. There was no day of the dead celebration until Coco 😂😂😂

Bro don't make a mistake making a video with myths created by false Bolivian historians. The Incas exploited silver mines in Potosi and later the Spanish however none of them had the technology to exploit the amount of silver you have been said. During the viceroyalty, Potosi was a very rich city; you can see all the viceregal infrastructure. It would be best if you were responsible when you make a video because thousands of people may watch it
@olivialaiz303 ай бұрын
Estas muy Equivocado no todo lo crearon los Incas del Perú.
@aliciawillis23222 ай бұрын
I would suggest you to research before criticizing Bolivian historians, by the way the historians weren't Bolivians at that time, the historians were Spaniards, the Bolivians were slaves..... The mines of Potosí, located in what is now Bolivia, were among the richest silver deposits ever found in the history of the world. They played a significant role during the Spanish colonization after their discovery in 1545. The extraction of silver from Potosí was immense and had a profound impact on both the local region and the global economy. Estimates suggest that from the 16th to the early 18th century, Potosí produced about 45,000 tons of pure silver, which represented a significant portion of the world's production at the time. The wealth generated from these mines contributed massively to the Spanish Empire's wealth and enabled it to exert influence across Europe and the Americas. Gold was also mined, though to a much lesser extent compared to silver. The focus was predominantly on silver due to the abundant and rich veins found in the Cerro Rico (Rich Hill) of Potosí. The extraction and labor practices in Potosí were notoriously brutal. Indigenous labor, forced through the encomienda and mita systems, was extensively used in harsh and often lethal conditions to mine the silver, which has left a lasting legacy on the region.

@@aliciawillis2322 Before the 18th century, Spain does not have the technology to exploit the amount of silver you have mentioned neither produce PURE silver or gold if I'm wrong give me the historical source.
@ivanlg94472 ай бұрын
@@aliciawillis2322you are so wrong. Bolivians didn't even exist before 1825. During the viceroyalties EVERYONE was Spaniard in these lands, by that I mean everyone had spanish nationality. The amount of silver extracted isn't even close to what Bolivia as an independent country extracted, and even extracted shit tons of Tin from Potosí making the people who extracted it ones of the richest around the world Look for "Simon patiño". There is absolutely no way that Spain extracted more than the independent countries because of the technology gap. Nowadays, the amount of minerals extracked during 300 years can be extracted in 1 year or less. 2nd of all, Spain only used to get the 20% of those extractions, it was a tax called "quinto real", so only 20% went to the spanish crown, the rest remained in the americas, these lands had their own governs. 3rd of all, people here weren't slaves, there were social classes (like nowadays), and the wars for the independence weren't US vs THE SPANISH, the wars for the independence were US vs US, because there were criollos, mestizos and indigenous people in both bands. In fact the band that was loyal to the crown of Spain was bigger, and that's where Bolívar and San Martin come to the scene. England was trying to find a way to destroy the Spanish empire (biggest rival at the time), and the British funded the independences in Spanish America. The British lend money, guns and men to bolivar and San Martin. The wars for independence were won by the band that was supported by the British, how ridiculous. And people think they were patriots.
