@@BuckingTheTrend2008 - there is a guy who has just shown off an early version of such a thing, called "Channels", which works as a client/hub. It looks a lot better than I would have imagined - although it appears to require a little Python interpreter for each site you want it to work with.

The feature about the Spectranet was great, and the wonderful background music gave it that something extra. Great episode as always. Thank you.

Always great to see the Spectrum SHow back. Loved the feature on that Spectranet, really great add-on for any Speccy owner today. I like The Perils of Willy but I would love to see someone come along and replace the tune with an AY rendition along with the proposed extra rooms. All in all another great episode, looking forward to the next one already.

Excellent episode. I am thinking another use of the Spectranet would be to develop on PC and export the assembled tap to a network location and then test it on a real spectrum, tweak on PC, repeat etc
@SpecBASStuff3 жыл бұрын
Exactly how I use mine :) - it doen't have to be just as .tap files though. Also very useful sending arbitrary chunks of binary back and forth from Speccy to PC while writing things.

@@robsretrostuff if you want to experiment with spectranet before you get a card, the FUSE emulator comes with spectranet support. If you go to the corresponding website for my tnfs site (I can't post the url as KZbin seems to remove my comments each time) there's a guide on setting it up: tnfs dot markround dot com. And you're right, it's a great development environment, the server component is very easy to setup on Windows or Linux. I do all my development against it using fuse locally, and then running on my real spectrum for final checks/tweaks.

@@BuckingTheTrend2008 Glad you enjoyed snapCterm, you can get the extra ESC keys by toggling the keyboard mode with Symbol Shift + Caps Shift which changes the border colour and key functions. More about it in the manual on my website, I should probably update the in app help at some point.

Wow, the feature, feature , is truly mind-blowing, in my humble opinion, and experiences, which go back many years of playing real ZX Spectrum games, and using real hardware- so amazed it can do all this stuff with new software, and a new 'joystick'-interface.' Not played the skateboarding game, yes, you're correct, skateboards typically work along flat trajectories only. Perils of Willy, great to see such attention to detail but games back in day, like is mentioned were chugged out and are what they are now, and this surly includes licensed, full priced arcade conversions. Like the typed-in sound-fx.

Great episode Paul. If you can put out of your mind that Chuckie Egg 2 is not more of the same, it a fun, charming platform game with nice sprite animation and a rare save game feature. Back in the day I managed to make one ‘Choccy Egg’ before giving up not wanting to go through it all again…nope!
