Hi James and Rhonda. Can't find the words that say what I thought of this episode. Awesome, fantastic, enjoyable, and any other superlative that fits. Thanks heaps for this episode. Loved every minute of it. Just WOW. Thank you. Only one thing missing. Was being able to enjoy the smell of the different spices. But again, thank you. All the very best.

I have returned from a pre Christmas break away, this video was a true gift. It reminded me of my 3 weeks on an island off Vanuatu, they had similar canoes with the seats made from skinny branch sized wood, extremely uncomfortable to sit on, but to take your mind away from the pain there was a bucket to bail water from the bottom of the canoe. Thank you for this video, i will now view the others i have missed out on. Happy sailing and enjoy the new year too.

The buttress roots on the almond trees are interesting in that they don't fan / spread out very far to have to support the weight of such a tall and large tree . Moreton bay fig trees in Australia send a lot thicker buttress roots out a lot further under its canopy to support a tree that grows to probably half the height of what those Almonds look .
@dale3696Ай бұрын
That was a really cool video, thanks for sharing 😀👍
How many people can say they'd be able to pick out an almond tree in a line-up? All of us, now, thanks to you guys! Loved learning about all the spices - seeing them in their natural state, and harvested, the process. Also never knew the history of the Spice Islands. I couldn't help but think of how some things never change - another country steps in and just decides to plunder another one, just because they can. Like I said, some things never change! Keep up the good work you two! And Happy New Year from North Truro, Cape Cod XO

How many miles were sailed for spices? Nutmeg was a mainstay in Colonial America. I can understand the strong desire for things like this, especially medicinal spices. What i never understood was the lust for gold. It's actually pretty useless other than for making trinkets.
@SailorJamesАй бұрын
I have always found this fascinating as well, humans love shiny things 😂
@shanep5121Ай бұрын
Gold is an incredible thing. It will never tarnish, even after thousands of years. You can pound it out to an incredible thinness and it is still usable. So it preserves what it plates. It is an excellent conductor of heat and electricity, a contact that never tarnishes. It can be used in medicine. It's more than just beautiful.
