Mr. Marin’s spirit & work ethic still shines in many of us who call Louisiana home . We were so blessed to grow up in this part of the United States where families lived close by each other and went to church as well as the pea patches together.

My baby sister and brother were both born in Zwolle Louisiana which was a few miles North of where we grew up in Anacoco Louisiana. We had 2 stores a post office , 1 restaurant Rosie’s Cafe and plenty of churches because our parents and grandparents took us to church and believed in our education.

Many interesting things gone in just the last 10 years since I moved to Louisiana. A little maudlin to think how many have vanished since 1995

When the British deported our French Acadians in the late 1700’s ( Eastern Canada-PEI & New Brunswick ) quite a few made it to Louisiana, had a life there, intermarried, etc. Hardscrabble, poor people but honest, hard working, Catholic Church, God fearing Good people! We were the “outcasts”, but as in any strong society, we are the survivors. I realize this video was made a longtime ago but the life & hopes of the people carry on! As an Acadian 80+ woman, I thank you for this accurate depiction of beloved ancestors. 👏🇨🇦🇨🇦🤗💐💐🙏🇨🇦🎶🎶🌹🇨🇦
