Both sides of my family grew up in Bayou Rouge a couple miles from Buddens General Store in Palmetto. After watching these videos the past few days I had been thinking about that store. It closed down for good not long after this was filmed. It's still standing last time I went home. Seeing all the things we've lost as a people since these were made makes me want to do anything I can to save what little we have left still standing.

The only Isle De Jean Charles that I know of is an island in the marsh a lil bit west of Point Aux Chene , and it's quite a long ways east of the Atchafalaya river.... Great video ..
