As a CranioSacral Therapist, this is an excellent episode! Thank you! There is a book written by Dr. John Upledger called Cell Talk, a text book for a class I took called The Brain Speaks. Upledger knew about Swedenborg and his knowledge of the craniosacral system, as it was later called. I have most of Swedenborg's anatomy books. The way he describes workings of the brain in a spiritual way, as his spiritual eyes were being opened, is so beautiful to me.

UT opian, thank you for the reference to Dr. John Upledger who knew about Swedenborg. My therapy from Australia called Bowenwork in America and Bowtech in Australia is designed to speak directly to the nervous system and instruct it out of a fight/flight feedback loop into a relax/heal/process mode. It has a lot to do with deep breathing in combination with these simple muscle rolls at specific locations on the body. It's so fascinating when taken as correspondences. Now I have to wonder if Tom Bowen knew about Swedenborg as well.

'People undergoing times of trial have the same experience.' I'm certainly going through one, and just the other night I had 2-part dream where I experienced the flood. In the first part. I was sitting on the floor in a large room and not far from me was someone I know from another YT channel, a deep thinker, and we were pleased to see each other. Shortly the room filled with water, which came up to our chests (hearts?) I was grinning as if I had instigated this. No-one looked concerned. Then the scene changed and I was walking alone along a clifftop, alongside which the waves were huge and the way forward became unclear. To my right a massive wave rose up and I knew it was going to spill over onto me and drown me. I said "goodbye" (to my existence) and at what should have been the moment of impact I woke up. It's the first time I've had such an obviously symbolic dream (or at least, remembered having one.) The turbulent sea must have represented the seething and raging; but in daytime reality that sea is channeled upriver to my Source I guess, in exchange for the gift of patience. Thank you for what you are doing - I've been binge watching/listening forthe first time over the past few days.

Acquiring a deeper connection to Heaven and God is rather simple: one must first make their mind into as much of a Heaven as possible. This is done by filling the mind with as much truth and beauty as possible. Namely, by taking in the beauty of nature, the beauty of art, and the truth within the word of God, in philosophy, and in math, geometry, and the sciences. Music is perhaps the single most effective way to do this, as it combines the power of emotion with geometry (music is geometry as sound) to create beautiful art. The music of the Baroque era typically embodies these qualities, such as in the music of J.S. Bach, as this music features great depth and complexity. By turning one's mind into a heaven in itself, one will begin to think more and more like heavenly beings; more like the angels and more like God Himself. This will greatly aid one in developing a deeper connection with the spiritual.

I am hoping that teaching the children stategies of mindfulness will help them throughout their lives to be kinder, less anxious, and more able to come to a place of peace. I try to teach the children to be present .. to notice the sounds and the feelings around them and how to be mindful listeners... the present is really the only moment we have. We can't be in a past moment or in a future moment. Breathing is the anchor to the present. I teach them that in any situation they can come back to putting the focus on the breath and it will calm them...... great show! OTLE is a blessing to me!

The heart and the brains communicate, but supposedly the electromagnetic signature of the heart is significantly larger than the brain. The brain contains sacred geometry (much like other sacred objects such as the Ark of the Covenant). Heaven is a direct manifestation of the mind of God; God has so ordered creation in such a way that it is a physical manifestation of the operations and principles by which the mind of God operates. And so our own brains, which are made in the image of the mind of God, directly parallels the operations of Heaven. It's as though the mind is a world in itself obeying the same principles of the rest of creation, but in which each individual person is king over their own world; over their own mind (and one must make their own mind in obedience to the Lord).

@offTheLeftEye4 жыл бұрын
Alzheimer's does seem like a cruel blow, Robert. My heart goes out to you and your Dad for your experience with it. Swedenborg learned that there are many factors in the timing of a person's death, including the effect they are having on people around them in this world, and the use to the person individually. The Lord is the only one who knows that fine line of when it is time -- it's beyond our human conception! You're in my prayers as you face the end of your time in this world. The Lord will take care of you, one way or another!

Enlightening, as always! Perhaps it's just semantics, but since Swedenborg has mentioned that the Genesis Flood was spiritual, I wonder: Is the cerebral Flood of dark desires and falsities related to Noah's flood in Genesis? Did something happen in our brains, and was Noah's story a way of telling it in the language of correspondences? And speaking of the human brain, perhaps we have a greater creative and healing power than we think: Many believe planet Earth is a living being, and I've thought before that just as birds are God's eyes on this world, and land animals are his extremities, maybe humans are the brain, and that if we, like neurons sending impulses to the rest of the body, command (through faith, prayer and especially actions) the Earth to heal itself, we could restore our beloved planet. Could this be also part of Michaelangelo's message in his "creation of Adam & Eve", where the human brain can be perceived surrounding God and also traced in his throat (the source of His Holy Voice and Words)?
@darryl53724 жыл бұрын
That hit me too.
@offTheLeftEye4 жыл бұрын
I think you're on to something, Juan! The way Swedenborg describes it, these stories of the Word have several layers of inner meaning. One applies to the individual path of spiritual development in each person. One applies to the kind of grand sweep of the history of humanity's connection to heaven. So yes -- we have our own personal deluges of falsity and darkness, AND the human race went through a dark phase of being overpowered by evil influences. The story of Noah appears in Genesis, so it is something that Swedenborg discusses verse by verse in "Secrets of Heaven"/Arcana Coelestia. That's something you could pursue, if you're interested!

The brain is made up of sacred geometry which is what allows it to generate consciousness; consciousness is generated when this geometry is set in motion by the spirit. Sacred geometry is found throughout the Bible, such as with the Ark of the Covenant, the structure of the tabernacle and the temple, and other sacred items. This geometry is largely what makes these things sacred. This is because geometry contains profound truth and truth itself is sacred. The mind of God contains all truth, infinite and eternal, and so the mind of God is the most sacred thing to ever exist. The brain itself is a physical manifest of the spiritual mind (the soul) which is what allows one's spirit to become joined to the brain, as in marriage; the physical brain and the soul were designed to be joined to one another in this way.

So where does Jesus Christ fit in?
@offTheLeftEye4 жыл бұрын
Great question, Nancy E! Jesus Christ is the Lord God of the universe and beyond - known by many names to many people. You may like this short clip, "What God/Jesus Is," kzbin.info/www/bejne/a4qTomOCrJhjl6c which may answer your question as to where Jesus fits in all this! On this channel we share information written down by Emanuel Swedenborg (1688-1772), which he learned through 27 years of direct experiences of seeing into the afterlife. Everyone is free to decide whether to believe that information or not. Swedenborg was a devout reader of the Bible, and who called himself a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. He believed his works were showing the rest of us what he learned to be the inner meanings contained in scripture! He claimed that his spiritual journey began with a vision of Jesus Christ himself. See our short clip, “Swedenborg’s Bible Vision Explained” kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJ7blmZ6pMeod6c The Bible tells us it contains an inner meaning, and here are some quotes that indicate this: “All these things Jesus spoke to the multitude in parables; and without a parable He did not speak to them.” -Matthew 13:34 “These things I have spoken to you in figurative language; but the time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figurative language, but I will tell you plainly about the Father.” -John 16:25 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now” (John 16:12). “If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?” (John 3:12). If you would like to learn more about how Swedenborg read and understood the Bible (what it meant to him) check out our episode, "What the Bible Is," kzbin.info/www/bejne/rGHQdmt_ebGspKc , or this short clip, "It Is Damaging To Take The Bible Literally," kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4m4iY1ud86aes0 If you'd be at all interested in hearing how the ideas in this show are grounded in the Bible, I recommend the recorded episodes of this Bible study: www.spiritandlifebiblestudy.com/ And if it all sounds too crazy, you might like our episode that explains more about who Swedenborg was and how he came to have his spiritual experiences - and why we believe him: "Was Swedenborg Crazy?" kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZC9gWZmg6uMnJo We share this information for anyone who is interested, but we also respect that everyone is on their own spiritual path, and in their own relationship with the Word and with God.
