As others have stated, of course every company makes the same claims, but a funny exception is IBM that actually was the first to mass produce the worlds most efficient electric motor (a permanent magnet outrunner), didn't make a lot of fuzz about it, just stuck it in harddrives that in itself got so famous the motor kind of drowned in the sensation.

@Derek Rowe Ok, I'll admit it happens to me too from time to time, but far from every video.. Some very specialized video's can contain a lot of info, both from the video itself and the comment section, but those are far between, in my opinion anyways.. I must say I envy your way of looking at the bright side !

@Paolo G Yes these days it is all companies fighting over who was the first to make a tiny change to an old design while the guys actually inventing something new can't afford to compete with all the patent restrictions. I have come up with several great inventions but when some company owns the patent for some minor sub part of that product it becomes to expensive to get off the ground without a large upfront investment. Patent laws need to be rewritten because companies make wide sweeping claims that cover things they never even intended and that limits innovation. Laws should be changed that they only cover things you are actually using or working on.

Next generation? Spin the magnets and electronically commutate the stationary windings, is a the very definition of a brushless DC motor. Brushless DC motors have been used in every single disk drive shipped since the 80s, and they've been in use in other industries as well.

But but the magnets are different...the next generation motors actually don't use magnets, they can run really really hot without issues and so can be air-cooled.

But the HET motor has the highest of everything because it has 2 radial and 2 axial rotors in addition to magnetic transmission to adjust every parameter for maximum performance. :) I am kidding but that motor does actually offer pretty much all designs in 1 motor at the same time. I had come up with the same idea and while researching it found out that they had just filed the patent.

So it's a multi pole stepper motor with a solid magnet core arranged in a halbach array with liquid cooling. I don't understand what's so new about this? Tesla has this in all the high end sports car motors. I'm assuming this is using at least a hexphased controller with a current chopper? From what I understand these motors have been around sans neodymium magnets since the 60s. Weren't really practical till rare Earth's were used though.

Ya right 30 years ago. When I developed this rim motor. I was threatened by oil company's to so stop working on my Rim motors. If I even talked about it to anyone I would be delt with./ killed then they kicked the shit out of me and took my first prototype. I use oil for cooling and lubrication I ran it through a oil cooling tank I rigged up. It keep the parts lubricated and cooled dam good. It steadily cooled the motor!pretty good I also used metal seals with rubber waaher. Used to hold the fluid in the cooling system. I was worried about it over heating but it stayed at 120° when I worked the motor hard the only problem, I was having was the upper bearings keeping them lubes so it didn't get hot either. When the motor was running at slow speeds. It just didn't work that well. I mostly used batterys for power. Only when You get up in speed did it start to really produce some good numbers on the odometer. Only one advice I can give you. The size and the to rati. Is the most in port part to make your spoke motors run perfectly with enough power to really work great. Good lock with your spoke motors.

Suffice to say it's a very impressive but short pitch!! IF I was a venture capitalist then one of my main fundamental questions however would be, if I may, is that of your USP over other rivals within this field (pardon the pun) such as EVO for example?? These are questions and answers would be best subject to a NDA prior to an investment(s) between both parties to help protect all cooperate company secrets and interests aswell as pending investments. Meanwhile I bid you very best wishes as your all doing great! 🙂👍

A hub-motor by any other name is just as lame. Put the power into the drive-train that's what the gears are for.

Surely there is an aftermarket solution
@NordicDan

@@FukU2222 There is aftermarket, but they're brushed motors that don't have nearly the torque or RPM under identical conditions as the OEM NipponDenso units. They suffer from poorly designed bushings, much shorter armature stacks and much thinner copper used to make the commutators. The brushes used in the aftermarket units are even smaller. Just a poor design all around. The poor bushings also lead to the motor making loud squeaking noises at all speeds that are an insane annoyance. As an alternative, I'm working on designing an upgrade method that I can use on OEM motors to rebuild them, allow them to move much more air and run quieter and cooler than even factory new, and vastly improved over the aftermarket units.
