There's that saying, "Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable". That's what DSBM means to me, and I think it's a great tool to have in your mental wellbeing toolkit. There's a stereotype of people who are into this kind of music being horribly depressed, chronically introverted, having no will to live, etc, but anyone I talk to who is into this kind of stuff generally seems quite friendly and well adjusted. Listening to and making this kind of music is a cathartic process and, while it may seem ironic, if it makes you feel better then it's doing its job. It's music that expresses darkness and loneliness, and knowing that you're not the only one experiencing it makes it easier to deal with, maybe even lets you look at your dark and depressive thoughts from a new perspective that turns into something inspiring, even uplifting in a way. Not to mention some of the absolutely stellar musicianship that there is to be enjoyed in the genre.

Hey guys huge DSBM fan here with the fuckin long comment detailing some stuff, i’ve been listening and enjoying the genre since 2008, it’s funny that Nattramn’s story stared as a Creepypasta and ended as a dark myth/legend, so, let me clarify some stuff for you. No, he didn’t cut his hands off, he’s clearly holding the pig’s feet behind the bandages, auto damaging your HP (to say it in a different way) it’s actually a very common practice in the genre to the point that most or at least one member of the band does it, and if the band doesn’t, it is seen as fake, so, it was very shocking to see someone doing it, but he wasn’t even the first one, let’s remember that Dead from Mayhem was known for it too, second, yes he often referred himself as a Pig in both ways, as a “person so fucked up inside” that resembles a pig and as almost literally one, the hot topic, is the 1 Girl 1 Axe story true? You might be surprised but it actually is, but, is a apocryphal story, the one who committed it was actually his brother and he committed auto oof after it, there’s actually an interview with he’s father on Swedish news tv and one of the only photos of actually him with his father at the place of the events, lamenting the events and the decisions of his brother, the photo only shows he’s back so, no, he’s face is not seen. The book’s title “Grishjärta” means “Pig’s Heart” so, once again, it works both ways, as a way to tell people that it is actually him and to say “This is my personal stuff that comes from the heart” a very interesting book and since the release on vinyl of the Ödelagt record, he said on he’s website that he’s going to record and release a new album that will retake the black metal veins, since every other record fell in the ambient/dark noise genre, but that record hasn’t materialized and we’re still waiting for it. There’s a band by the name Grishjärta, but it is unknown if it is a project by Natrammn.

Not nearly the spookiest subgenre of black metal IMO, that would be horror BM. Try out Axis of Perdition, they litterally have an album themed around Silent Hill! The examples you're speaking of are creepypasta stuff - Most of the fluff around these bands is made up, in inspiration of Mayhem and their antics. Although Mayhem did a LOT of bad stuff, including the EP with a cover of their guitarist's suicide, even more about them was completely made up, and they would spread the rumor themselves. That being said, DSBM is usually very good music :)

If use head just a litle .Even if he cut his arms of , just after done first in case - ok he then soposed use the other to sew on pig feet?, on the one he cut of then or?. Ok so far mabe possible. But ok he like then with that one he sew pig feet on. Use that one to cut of and sew on pig feet the other aswell? , yea right.... Then to the rumor he hit a kid with the backside of a axe - said turn out to be his brother. And best one is he wrote a book grishjarta "pigheart" he loved pigs ok -.But again bet it be a bit hard to write books with eh.. so called pig feet`s as hands?. Later he did project with mame of so called asylum he was in .Sure again "If" he was put in there due to his lifestyle around his music. I`m pretty sure they would nor done treatment like he could just continue in the same dark style he did. That suposed was what got him there in first place .. right?... And last guess some DSBM fans will hate me for say this - No offence to the music .l like mutch of the music. Just for that be so dark part. Ok mabe more original then the necro sound old BM - Like could not play dark enough so have shit sound to make it more evil. OK for DSBM. Aint that more like take the EMO to the more extreme ? . This self mutilation ,cut them self style? Ok no fun to like joke with that. Being realy depressed ,disturbebed. But for bm and part being evil. Would it not be more evil cut other`s then?. I`d find some emo to do self cutting.. But ok end this with - Well mabe shall be glad they not do so still....
