as someone who’s probably the most avid Spooky’s Jump Scare Mansion youtuber and most frequent uploader of content from this game, I thoroughly enjoyed this. I believe I even recognized a few of my own clips used here! To answer your question at the end, yes and no. The game was developed in phases. First, the game only went up to Room 250, however you could still continue on past 250 but it would just be completely endless with randomized chases and no more elevators. Only Specimen 1-5 and 9 existed back then. Then in a later update Specimen 6-7 were added and the game went up to Room 550. Then Specimen 8 was added and it went up to Room 610. Then Specimen 10-11 and went to Room 760. Then the final update finished the game. Hope that helps!

There is a French KZbinr named “Squeezie” that played Spooky’s jumpscare mansion really early, in this video we can see that the game in fact ends at the 760th room.

Actually, I remember the last one!! In the game's plot, Spooky tells the protagonist to do the challenge, but I do remember there being less than 1000 rooms! However, I remember the number of rooms were 500, not an specific number as 760, I could just misremember it tho. The game was not complete yet and was being updated throughout the years, but I do remember not watching many playthroughs about it because of that reason, and later on forgot about the game lol. Just recently started catching up.

I don't think it was a slender reference. I think Tall Man was a Phantasm reference. Character's name is literally "Tall Man." Also makes sense for it to later be referred to as obscure. Although I could be overthinking it since the notes reference wouldn't make a lot of sense.

13:11 i believe he was changed for 2 main reasons: 1) it would just be another specimen 3; think about it, both are worms, both have the same speed and they both use the same soundtrack “writhing sneezes”, have the same local etc.. so it would’ve just been another scarier-copy 2)boring/repetitive: most specimens (apart from 6) basically have the “just run and open doors until scary monster stops running”.. which is not only braindead but the game is hella repetitive, so i think kira wanted to do something like specimen 6 where you had to take a break from the repetitive gameplay of running and running and running.

Was this an iceberg speedrun or something? Every entry was completely skimmed over, which completely defeats the appeal of an iceberg, which Is to go as deep into obscure info as possible. At least pause when you're talking about something that disappears quickly.
