I hope everyone understands what Dave’s doing here… these are snippets of a Dave/Van Halen biography… and it’s great. When you listen to Dave’s descriptions, underneath it is a deep brotherhood and relationship between the two of them, that only THEY had with one another. As someone who works in the movie business and has lived in LA/The Valley his whole life, I lived all of this. I knew people that knew Eddie, I knew girls that dated Alex and I worked on plenty of rock concerts and videos. It’s all true. Dave’s refreshing uncensored recollections don’t take anything away from the talent Ed was… it just proves he was a man… who was fallible, impressionable and a victim of circumstances that were the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s in LA. What a time… great stuff Dave…

Dave is just illuminating that unlike Sam, he and the Brothers were actually "brothers from different mothers." Sam walked into a band that was already crafted by hand. Dave and the Brothers had to bootstrap themselves from nothing. Remember, Dave's dad had money but his childhood wasn't set up for him. He was kicked out of his mom's house and bounced around the east coast and finally in Altadena.

poor dlr; contrary to Sammy Hagar he couldn't have a successful solo career after VH; it's just like those boxers that were champions in their youth but instead of quitting at the top insisted on ridiculize themselves when they get old. He clearly can't sing and resorts to "reciting".
@teddynugent24638 ай бұрын
@DonVintaggio I saw Dave on Eat em and Smile and Skyscraper HEADLINER tours. Saw Sammy solo backup ZZ Top on his I can't drive 55 tour. Dave was a headliner, Sammy solo was basically always a backup band. Fail, try again.

I think Dave & his Mom had some rough times!! I'm a Mom to 27 year old identical twin sons & when they were young they were HYPER-CATS!!! Jumping off the couch, into a rollout. Back up onto the coffee table to do it OVER & OVER AGAIN. I was raising 2 little DLR's & losing my mind. But I never would have kicked them out of the house or said they were an accident or mistake. It breaks my heart that maybe Dave has never married because of his Mom............@@Whaddayamean13

Well Dave, you've done it again. I sat glued to your voice as you weaved in and out of what seemingly was 14 different loosely affiliatied side notes to draw up a larger picture of what was going on in a lost and discombobulated individual's life at not so certain points in time. I hung on every word, swirling from one set of mental images to the next and then all of a sudden you abruptly stopped talking. What was that? I was acutely paying attention every second of the journey but I dont think I caught much of anything. I havent gotten out the chemistry set for years I swear. Best bus driver ever.

Holy fck - we stayed there when I was a kid in 1969. I learned to swim in that pool. We moved into a house nearby with a river view next door to Ned Glass, who was working on the tv show Julia. (Later he was in The Godfather). He and his wife were like grandparents to me, they had two Russian tortoises named Ivan and Boris. My boyfriends mother was dating Herb Albert’s brother. Crazy to see the place again. It would be my dad to pick that place to live while we were in transition.

DLR is truly one of a kind! He and the VH brothers were destined to make rock n roll history! Can u imagine a Van Halen without David Lee Roth??? Sam Hagar is a shit talking lowlife. Just ask Alex Van Halen who made peace with DLR, global record breaking concert tours 2007 to 2015. AL VH thinks Hagar is a bum. DLR loves life and is a guru with a deep deep soul !!!

This was during cutting the 2 tracks 'Can't Get this Stuff No More' & 'Me Wise Magic' in 1996 ? To be fair Dave did a great job on the vocals there & if he & Ed had not had a daft-as-a-brush fight about Hip Replacement & done a whole new album & tour they could have conquered the world all over again.......Golf Cart in Pajamas ? ....That was Ed going up the hill to 5150 when lightning ideas would strike. ...Jumping in swimming pools from balconies was a tour sport popularized by KEITH MOON of course...The higher up the balconys were the more he would wear wellington boots when he jumped to cushion the splashdown impact.... He'd also dynamite hotel toilets, Water Bed flood hotel lobbies by sending them down in elevators, and drive around village roundabouts driving a milk float electric van dressed as Adolf Hitler...........I don't think Janie was a 'porn star' , I thought she was a Stuntwoman ?....In movies ? .......Who's Will Robinson ? Lost in Space guy ?..🤔......... 'Allegedly' ? ......🙄 Go easy on Val please . Losing Ed really upset her. Thanks.

I love David Lee roth, he was one of the best front man ever to exist on this planet or any other That being said, I think Dave is OCD and maybe autistic little bit. He doesn’t even need anybody to talk to. He can crack himself up with laughter without being asked any questions .. he’s getting older now. People should leave him alone and just let it be. We have the records and they are great all of them that should be enough for everybody.
