I just binge watched 4 hours of Mr Bandara and Gemma... thanks for creating these awesome videos. I've learned lot about ground handling. Even know I'm a Paramotor pilot paragliding videos are where I learn the most. Thanks guys you rock, keep it up!

Nice game (square). Sometimes GH can be boring so this type of exercise can be real fun. If you have more, show us. And it is nice that you showed even the failed attempt. PG education videos sometimes can bring false feeling that everything is easy and you can learn it in no time. Good to see, it takes some time and effort.

In the beginning of this video not much progress. Then suddenly. WOW. Amazing. Good job.

Yes I was debating weather to leave that boring part on or not but I thought it was important for people to see how much work goes into it and how many failed attempts you have to get back up from before you succeed, otherwise it put across the wrong image that it's really easy straight away :P Thanks so much for the support as always Morten!

Jemma is really starting to improve be interesting to see how it translates to flying and her confidence when weather gets better. Really liked this video 10 mins is currently the max I can manage on bike at a time so perfect. Just starting to make small steps round house without crutches although broken still pretty sore. Hopefully after Christmas I will be back to ground handling myself and will try to work through these videos. Be nice to have somebody send me some shinny new wings for ground handling :-) No I will use Mickey 2 and buy a new wing for next season.

Saw your video chris, awesome to see you pedalling and even better if you can already walk around the house albeit slowly for now. We'll try to start making videos slightly longer each time to see if we can keep you on that bike a bit longer each day :P Keep pushing!

So the wind speed was about 15 mph or so? With the side control are you only using each break to control or can you use an A riser to bring up, and the brake to lower the tip? I think I forget to turn my body into the wind to go side to side, will practice when I get a chance, thanks again for sharing, would be good to break down a move for a klutz like me to understand.
@AndreBandarra16 жыл бұрын
It does help a lot to start by facing the wind with the wing above you and turn to face the wing as it goes to your side. As the wingtip touches the ground you can use just the brake on the side that is highest to control where the wing goes. If you release it the wing goes down or just sits there. If you pull on it a bit, the high part of the wing will rock back and the entire thing will start coming over your head. Using the A's can sometimes work in some occasions but mostly just makes things a lot more difficult. If the wind strenght is right (not too strong or too light) the easiest way to do it is by using just the brakes.
