I was looking at the walk one has to endure from Don Mueang Terminal 2 to the train, then to Bang Sue Central before taking the Mrt to Mo Chit. It would be easier to take Airport Bus A2 to Mo Chit, get down then take the Bts to Central Bangkok. I drove from Ayutthiya a few years back to Rangsit, Vibhadi then to Sukhumvit 16. The actual Bangkok and Pathum Thani.. by the way, Deep Red Line.. Hmm..

If you're talking about Jit Phumisak, he's not even a bit controversial. His poems are taught in Thai language classes, and Thai liberals see him as a liberal, while socialists see him as a marxist (which is more correct).

And all this time I thought Ringsit was within Bangkok. Did not realize the IT Mall was so close to the Lak Si train station. Thanks to you Pat I have a much better understanding of the Bangkok area than I did before. After all these years I still get lost in the city and surroundings. Since I returned to Thailand seven months ago I have been at the Bang Sue station at least twenty times and heading back once again in a few days. Can,t say I will miss the old station there.

5555 In January 2023 (I think it was the 19th, the opening day of Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal) I went to Rangsit to try the train, and I also was caught behind a fence. Had to walk a loooooong detour to reach the station. Always impressive to see how much public transport is improving so fast.

Bangkok just keeps changing so much, i moved here in 2006 when i was 6 and left when i was 10 When i arrived there were still elephant jockies prowling nana, now it almost seems unrecognizable except for a few places, but the plus side has always been rail extensiveness (im from Kuala Lumpur and its more sparse and inaccessible in comparison)

Have you tried the service from Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal to Taling Chan? Did it some weeks ago, and then from Taling Chan to Thonburi. And may be you should make a video about Bangkok's funniest coach service from Suvarnabhumi to Rangsit. It is line 555. But be aware the terminal stop in Rangsit is a little bit far away from the train station.

Until they can get it fully linked to the other ARL line, it still feels a bit clunky to be used as an Airport line for DM. No connection to the Green line BTS and the station that doesn't quite drop you into the terminal I think it's still easier to get an A1/A2 bus at BTS Mo Chit, once those get on the expressway you'll be at the terminal in 15 minutes.

You refrain from commenting on the sustainability and benefits/practicality of the Bang Sue station and other outlying mass transit lines that now seem to go to all far flung areas of the sprawling city with seemingly no rhyme or reason. This Red Line seems a bit of a White Elephant (and not an auspicious one). It's a huge rail line that to me appears to connect rather sparsly populated areas, and which also seems duplicative of the northern end of the Sukhumvit Skytrain line. Is this line really necessary...it doesn't even seem to interconnect with the BTS and MRT transit lines.
