THANK YOU !!! Bought a gem about 2 weeks ago Trained five days in a row !! At home hitting into net . Played a round and shot about 8 strokes less than normal !!!! Huge This video I just found today and explained the wobble I was getting at the just after impact zone !!!! Thank you for your effort and instruction . I have never experienced the “ feel “ or “move” regularly untill using the Gem I can’t wait to see how this will affect my strokes in day two months time !! Amazing tool !!! But like all tools or training aides you must train correctly and daily . This video is a major tool for Gem begginers !!! Thank you !!!!

After your first video and one by Steve Johnson, I went out and bought this aid. I did my 10 swings on the driving range and then swapped clubs and hit a ball with my 7 iron. I got a RIDICULOUS low duck hook left. This happened again and again and I was ready to throw the thing in the next water hazard I came across. But I was swinging pretty much full swings and getting a massive wobble. I thought that was part of the 'feel'. So thank you so much (in advance) for clarifying what I am supposed to be doing. I can't wait to try it out again. Why haven't GEM made a bunch of videos themselves? They owe you big time for making the videos that they should be making! Great work, Brendon!
@Bel-Canto772 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Got rid of mine(refund) because of the lack of instruction and I hooked everything. I already suffer from a left miss so the GEM to me promotes a flatter plane and helps slicers not golfers who hook the ball. I need to feel OTT to hit it straight.

I have been taking golf lessons and watching golf videos for 30 years. I tried every type of movement, set-up, back swing, down-swing, turn, follow-through, wrist set, TRAINING AID, etc., etc., imaginable and NONE OF THEM WORKED!!! The reason why none of them worked is because I was concentrating on my GOLF SWING and the BALL, and not the TARGET!!! I would constantly think to myself...."is my set-up right??...do I have enough forward bend???....do I have enough side bend??...am I getting enough width in my back swing??.....do I have a flat wrist??...am I getting enough back swing turn??...am I swaying??...am I keeping my head down??...am I clearing my hips enough??....do I have enough shaft lean to create lag??...on...and on...and on.... SOUND FAMILIAR??? Once I started changing my perception of the golf swing via a certain instructor on You Tube (did not cost me a dime) did my swing improve exponentially!!! I started to literally do the OPPOSITE of what 99% of golf instructors teach on KZbin. I started to use analogies like swinging an axe, a sledge hammer, a hammer, tennis racquet, base ball batter and pitcher, skipping a stone, etc., etc., to change that perception. At setup, I am in constant motion (I NEVER freeze over the ball). I picture the target in my mind. I have a super strong grip; I have an extremely closed club face; I create an incredible amount of lag just in my setup; I use my body to swing the club up in the back swing; I come up in the back swing and turn BOTH my hips and shoulders to the target and then, using my LEGS...LEGS...LEGS...(remember that idea of the 'SQUAT"? I am able to do it every time!! No more early extension and standing up at impact and flipping!!!) I then come crashing down to the ball, with a divot every time, and swing through to a complete finish without ever seeing the club hit the ball!!! I just look at the target and watch as my ball sails towards it!! I have NEVER hit the ball better!!! NEVER had more consistent strikes!! Solid contact 90% of the time. I take a pitching wedge and turn it into a 7 iron. THAT IS WHAT THE PROS DO!!! I focus on the TARGET and NOT the BALL or my GOLF SWING!! As I said earlier, I don't even see the ball when I hit it!! And I don't lose balls anymore!!! If you want to know more, let me know!!!"

Got mine a couple of weeks ago, thanks for the discount code. Here is my take. To swing it smoothly you need to have good right side bent in the follow through. This helps get your left side turning through impact. What you will find is that your hands need to finish far more to the left than you think, thus squaring the club face more with your body than your hands. Look at the swing of Lee Trevino in his prime, that will help great deal. This training aid forces you to clear your left side to swing it smooth. My shots are much more solid through impact. Like i am hitting the ball with a body blow, and not a slap. One more thing, if you move the weight just a little left or right of center it will open or close the club face in reference to the swing path, thus giving the feeling of a fade and draw through impact. Hope this helps guys!

I think it's a wonderful aid and I'm very appreciative of you putting so much into the explanation of how to use it. GEM needs to be more explicit on usage which is very minimal. Even their video clips are lacking in detail. For the first time I am swinging on plane! Hallelujah!

Shallowing. How you do it, how you get, how you feel it the magical part for everyone that figures it out. I have been using Bradley Hughes’ 4:30 path drill system for the past year now and found great success. It created the same “magic” feeling. Congratulations for finding that feeling.

Thanks for the extra details. The info available from GEM is minimal at best. I’ve had my GEM for a couple of weeks now. Bought it based on your videos. To say it feels “funny” when you first start swinging it is an understatement!! I have been diligent on the practice protocol. I will be in the group of people who will need WEEKS of practice. I brought it to a friend who has a TrackMan. Lucky guy!! Most of the smash factors sat around 1.30. There were a few outliers at 1.39 and 1.42. I’d like to be THAT GUY. No discernible change in my golf scores… YET!!

Got my GEM with Be Better Golf code. The only thing I don’t understand is the opening of the club face like Ian Woosnam has shown using. Is that what you are trying to do because I feel like most instructors want the club face somewhat closed/parallel to spine now, am I off base there? Thanks for all your content

HI Brendon Have you done any research into zero taper golf grips. I have been using zero taper grips for over a decade and find they really help to prevent over rotation of the right hand. A pga pro developed a zero taper grip around 15 years ago and produced a product called Frecks grips. I used them for a long while with great results, the only issue was the weight being 80 grams which caused swing weight issues. I have changed over to Jumbomax ultralite grips they produce a grip called the STR8 Non-Tapered The grip weight is 42 grams so it doesn't cause swing weight issues I would recommend you try the XS size STR8 grip to start with, I would be really interested to get your thoughts on zero taper grips Thank you for all your great content

Definitely felt the wobble at first, it was quite obvious! The swing feel is very different to me, and before I saw this I thought "this is a body release" - basically I concur with what you're saying, and the stab thing was very much a feeling I went to with the Malaska move when I was fiddling with that. I suspect all this time I've been in my own way and driving the arms past, be interesting to see what this training does... For those trying it out, try not to get too analytical with it just go slow and short, let the club figure out how to smooth out that wobble - if you're like me you'll be surprised by how different it is going around the corner.

I had one hour of daylight left. Current weather conditions were windy and temps of 68. Biked over to the par 5 hole close to my home with two clubs in hand, an eight iron with the homemade Gem device on it and a nine iron, five balls and a divot tool. I was hitting into the wind on all shots. I would swing the 8 iron as Brendon demonstrated and then drop the club, pick up the 9 iron and swing away. The results were eye opening and amazing. I will continue down this Gem path! 20 balls were hit with 17/20 landing on the green from 135 out from a deep pin. The 3 that landed off the green were all on the right and back fringe. Why I'm telling my story is because I'm an average golfer that struggles like everybody else and want to give hope that if I can make this happen, you can too. I too battled the wobble issue and was ready to hang it up, but this is where Brendon deserves praise for his dedication to helping others who love this game. Look forward to the upcoming Gem guidance. Thank you, thank you and thank you! Brendon, you rock!

Looking down the shaft from the handle a much better way is to set the bar at 7 o’clock rather than 6 o’clock as recommended. This allows to balance with shaft lean. Been working with this for a few weeks and it is a much better adaptation. This eliminates the wobble.

my 2 ¢ ... the weight enhances gravity's affect on the club - opening the face to lie on the plane in the back swing and closing the face to square it to path (and target line) on the the thru swing. In other words it gives you the feel of the "tumble" that is needed to square the club in thru swing. This winds up being the desired amount of forearm pronation/supination to keep the club on plane, while squaring the club face.

I have been working indoors with my GEM and I finally feel as though I am using the long bar without a wobble. When would you suggest that a user would move to the shorter rod? Or is it better to keep using the longer rod ?

Would love to see how this could marry up with kwontum physics as I'm still practicing that. I.e. step drills. Also I made a 14.00 dollar knockoff version you can put together from Lowe's, but not sure if the algorithmic design properties give you the same benefits. It does wobble at first until you get used to it but I haven't realized any "magic" yet.

Going on 2nd full week with this trainer and I agree that out of all I have owned this one is special. At first I was not sure what the wobble was teaching me and I misinterpreted that I was supposed to "body swing" and stay more connected as a way to stop it. It worked but I had no power and lost huge yardage with every club. Then (eureka moment) I came to realize what it really wants me to do is body turn AND rotate my wrist very hard from the top through the ball. I have never rotated that early in the downswing but it works wonders once you get it. Be better Golf has a very good video explaining this wrist move also so check it out. Thanks GEM and BBG ⛳🏌🏌♂🏌♀

just a follow up.i get the club to not wobble by making a full body turn toward target,backfoot up on toes. also for me promotes a flatter swinger like BBG says,"laid off". for me this is the essential move to create a more complete swing.dont have launch monitor so not sure yet about outside ball flight.if anyone has this link to it would be great. Perfect. Between this vid and latest vid but the inventors, GEM owners including myself should have all the answers. Biggest thing for me is keeping a light grip and just don’t over engineer it. Let the GEM do its thing. Zero manipulation by hands or arms. It’s actually VERY natural in terms of feel.

@alecrosekrans2 жыл бұрын
There's so much misunderstanding about casting in the downswing and the extent to which in constitutes a swing fault. The movement you described as a slight casting motion is really the unhinging (more precicesly ulnar deviation) of the lead wrist, which is an essential part of the transition and which many golfers initiate far too late in the downswing. The swing killing form of casting is actually much more an early release of all of the angles created in the downswing in the form of the extension of the trail arm.

Yes because the wrist have to do things up at the top you can’t just go up and go back down and you need a little time to do those things which is but keeping your back close longer feels like while your back is closed you do a move and then you go through
