The Staines West Branch Revisited, a Lost London Branch Line

I made a return visit to the lost Staines West Branch that I first visited in the late 1980s when the oil terminal was still in operation.
The line opened in 1884 and by 1961 it had five intermediate stations but passenger numbers remained very low. The line closed to passengers in March 1965 but rained opened to freight including a fuel oil terminal was built in 1964 on the site of the former goods yard at Staines West.
The oil terminal closed in 1991 and the link to the Windsor and Eton Riverside Branch was severed.
