As a barista, I love these. I had to size up quite a bit. Usually wear US 12 in shoes such as vans. Finally settled on 47 in the standard model.

Oooh I like the design because I can wear these and people don't know it's for the kitchen. I had to travel from work and forgot to change my shoes, my current cogs were uncomfortable for flights. These also looks nice when I have to demo food for clients.

I'm in the market for kitchen shoes again. In the last two years I've gone through three pairs going into my fourth pair now. I work in a BBQ restaurant as a kitchen expo/meat cutter and the tallow just wrecks havoc on my shoes, especially when glue is involved. I've had two pairs of Sketchers and a pair of Snibbs and they didn't hold up at all. The Sketchers just started coming apart at the sole because the glue didn't hold up and the Snibbs, bless their soul, held up but the material just absorbed all the meat juices flying everywhere. The nonslip has never been an issue. It's the quality of the build and the clean up. The amount of caked on meat at the bottom of my shoe every night is disgusting and I'm hoping anyone here that has worked in similar work environments can share how your Mise are holding up. I'll continue to read the comments already posted for more info but thank you guys for listening. Great concise video.

I used to wear steeltoe Redbacks (like a better Blundstone imo), and just moved to Birkenstock clogs for the increased airflow. Switching shoes to let them rest is a good tip, though. I got it from a healthcare friend and switch after prep, just before service.

I wore the standards and as a flat footed gentleman and I loved how snug they were I just wish they had just a little bit more cushion. Mines lasted me about bit over a year. Hey Justin! from the UK and I'm in my second year of culinary school right now. I've been staging all over the place but I've settled in working at an NYC inspired restaurant called BRIX to help pay for living right now, once I finish culinary school I'm gonna try push to get into some of the places that really inspire me. Theres a place called Fallow that I'd love to work at. Seeing this, having the MISE footwear would be game-changing for me. I'm still using the shoes my culinary school provided for me cause money's a little tight right now, but only recently I realised how much of a problem they are. It's been pretty agonising pain when I'm working every day in them, they arent even clogs, theyre super super hard, steel capped boots and I almost just thought the pain was something that you get used to. Justin, I just got these shoes a couple days ago and used them on a 13 hour day. I was on a cement floor with spilled liquids and dropped food. I experimented with how slip proof these shoes were and I found they gripped well. Plus, they were super comfortable during that long day! I’ve just got my culinary degree, and I’ve started up my own micro bakery business which is all sourdough methods bake goods that take a long time to produce. I’m always tired from the kitchen shoes it’s not comfy for long hours standing at all, and it is hard to clean the inside of them.
