I'd recommend against plastic water bottles and instead go for glass or stainless steel. Even BPA-free bottles basically replaced BPA with other, less studied chemicals that will end up leaching into the water and end up in your body. Add to that all the recent news on microplastics found in our bodies and in the environment, I think the best idea is just to avoid plastic whenever there are practical alternatives available.

I’m curious too. My beard destroys razors and the electric shavers I’ve tried too fast. I’ve gone to double edge and they seem to be the best for me but went back to just having a beard and a buzz cut every three weeks. I use a razor for details only. It would be nice to have another option.

I used to use Braun, but Braun stopped to deliver a really close shave maybe 15 years ago. Panasonic did deliver. But blades and foils for my Panasonic are getting harder to buy, and more experience, year by year. I'm a bit special. My skin can tolerate a beard only for a limited time. I'm 56 years old now, and "beard" is now a week, max, before I need to shave. Naturally, my skin hates shaving. Shaving every day is...well, not as bad as not shaving for ten days, but it's not really fun either. Luckily, shaving once or twice a week looks reasonably good on me. As long as I wear t-shirts, formal shirts are a different story. What I liked about the latest Braun I tried was that my skin had no problems with the shaving process. It was just that I couldn't wear a formal shirt with a necktie without getting mad. The shave just wasn't close enough. Probably less of an issue today; at 56 years of age, people now often respect me without a necktie.

Instead of purchasing longer charging cables, I recommend using an extension board. Charging cables carry DC current, which is more susceptible to loss than AC, leading to slower charging. To mitigate this, the cable would need to be thicker and have lower resistance. Furthermore, replacing an extension board is much more cost-effective than replacing a charger. An added benefit is if the extension board includes surge protection.

@@prettyboishah2898 it depends which country you're currently residing. There are plenty of options in the states. I currently live in canada and i have purchased from vivobarefoot. I also had my aunt bring me a pair of flux footwear when she visited from the states. Been wearing them for all of summer and they work great. I got these brands from a website called "anya's reviews". I also saw a few brands on my ads and on youtube. I recommend looking up reviews to see what fits your needs. For a starter pair, crocs are good because theyre widely available. I first learned of barefoot shoes through squat university's youtube channel and my life has changed. My plantar fasciitis is gone, pain at the big toe is gone, ankle and knee pain have been reduced and my lower back and hips are stronger. I have also managed to reduced my ingrown toenail. It's crazy how much better i'm walking and i honestly recommend everyone to give them a try. Start off small, with a wide toe box before you go zero drop, because it may hurt you when you're walking on concrete with no cushioning, while wearing a barefoot shoe with zero drop (check out flux shoes. Altra running also has good cushioning for running, but imo the goal should be less cushioning outside sportd). Good luck ! 😊

1. A USB charging hub. Charge everything (smartphone, flashlight, wireless earphones, smartwatch etc.) at once and be done with it for the day. 2. A tiny keychain Swiss Army knife. It has the small blade AND (depending on the model) small screwdrivers, nailfile, tweezers, scissors, bottle opener, some even have a ballpoint pen and it's really comfortable to use. I recommend the Victorinox Rambler or the Midnite Manager. 3. Similarly a tiny keychain flashlight (I carry the Olight i1R 2 EOS). This and the keychain SAK are perfect for most urban needs and you won't even have to think about them because your keychain is always nearby anyway. 4. Only thing I would say over circular or rounded parts of the area you're shaving you might not get it all in one shave sometimes, but hey it gets the job done clean & safe.

Speaking about saving money - just one point about the sponsor of this video. In some countries, in mcluding where I live, you can get very good in-person (or via zoom) therapy services for less than BetterHelp charges. Therapy takes time, so an extra $10 per session ends up making a big difference if you do it for years. No hate on them, maybe for US standards their prices are competitive, but I'm sure in many countries you'll be better off just visiting a therapist in person.

Great list! Very sensible and well thought out. I was always skeptible of "premium" boxers until I mistakenly bought a $13 pair that were on sale for $8. Since then I've been converted. But as you said, just because a pair of boxers exceeds $10 doesn't mean they're great for everyone. 32Degrees Mesh Boxers is my favorite budget premium brand. Separate is another one I've recently become fond of. Contigo is a superb budget brand for water bottles AND travel coffee mugs. I also love how easy they are to clean/wash. I like the idea of a mini pocket knife on a keychain, but having been stopped by over zealous TSA agents, I quickly abandoned this as I've had to part ways with these many knives on more than one occasion even after showing that the blade was much less than 2-inches.

The best belt I ever got was a mechanic belt. They don't have a "buckle", and they're so much more comfortable than a regular belt. But ultimately, getting pants and shorts that fit your waist and don't require a belt is what you want. Uniqlo may claim that the factories they outsource their manufacturing to are ethically run, but they're not free of controversy and allegedly still aren't what they say they are. For around the same price, maybe a little more, get something ethically made in your own country and support your own economy! Same goes for underwear and other items. Or measure your best fitting clothes, and hit up the used market. Fast fashion ain't it. I always get shoulder bumps in my shirts from regular hangers, so I've got fully sloped hangers, like a semi-circle, so there is no sudden drop and thus no bumps in the shirts. A year ago, I was doomed to a life of orthotics. That was until I found barefoot shoes, natural movement, and strengthening my feet and legs that had been severely weakened by "comfortable" shoes. If I put those shoes on now, they'll be anything but comfortable, because they're not foot-shaped and they misalign my entire body. Once you transition, wearing next to nothing on your feet is quite comfortable. Movement is so much easier and fun now, and so many issues have been fixed. It's quite literally life-changing.

Best Investment for me is having sharp knives, A decent leather strop with compound and a whetstone from shapton or worksharp. Having a sharp knife makes cooking tasks so much easier.

I've been into Anson Belts lately. Bought their belt hanger/organizer for $25. Very convenient, keeps the belts straight. Holds four Anson belts.

Contigo water bottle is durable. Seeing my father-in-law using it daily and the hook broke and pushed on until the some mechanism finally gave up due to age, after like 5+ years. However, I don't like that one can't throughly clean evey inch of the botyle as you can't dismantle all parts for brushing. I came across the laboratory analysis on water bottle and mould growth by CNA Insider titled 'Is you reusable water bottle a hotbed for harmful bacteria & mould? " The other recommendation you have is good. Thanks and haooy weekend.

As someone guilty of not exercising best practices, is there a best method for cleaning? Soaking the whole thing in vinegar water?

Can I just say, Philips is the way to go for electric toothbrushes. I've had two Braun ones in the past and both failed after a few years. The Philips is still going strong after 6 and is much better quality in the first place. The cleaning is better and it needs charging way less often. I also use the pickers, but I feel bad every time I do because it's so much disposable plastic.

I was recently researching this as I retired my Oral-B some months ago just prior to a vacation. I'm not sure how many years I had it; probably close to 10. I wound up getting the Sonicare 4100 this time around to try something new, though both seem to be well-loved by their respective camps. I didn't love it from the start.... which was my fault. It has a 'sensitive' setting, which apparently is its default setting. Fortunately it was either the second or third time using it I hit the power button during brushing and the normal setting kicked in. That sucker vibrates your skull. Which is really the main difference: Oral-B for more spinning with a round head; Sonicare for a vibrating, somewhat traditional albeit smaller oval head.

So true about the plastic waste on picks. I used to be one of those people but I encourage others to give normal floss another try! It's really not that bad!

There’s a few brands that make biodegradable picks. The ones I bought are from Smartlife made of Straw Wheat.

A Zojirushi travel thermos for coffee. Hands down the best travel mug I’ve ever used and lasts forever. I’m also a big fan of insoles but I’ve been enjoying the Fulton ones best recently. They have real cork so I feel like they form to my foot nicely.

ThermoFlask is much better than Contigo! 40 oz two packs usually go for around $30 on Costco. BPA free and keep your drinks warm or cold. Been using mine for 5 years already, and it's still going strong. Ive taken that son of a gun to many hikes and desert trips, and dropped it countless times and still does the same it did when I first bought it.

An alternative to only the knive would be a small Swiss Army knive, some are really small but still manage to fit a pair of scissors inside and boy do they come in handy sometimes🙂

Electric shaver is a bit controversial though. I have been using one when I got my first facial hair and into late teens. At some point I tried shaving with a straight razor and despite struggles during my first tries I in general get cleaner shave and enjoy that part of my routine, although it takes slightly more time.

Pick style flossers really are a lifesaver. Buy 5 packages and put them wherever you might have idle time. Take hygeine out of the bathroom and you'll do it more often.

RovyVon Aurora A8. 4 brightness levels from the main LED and 3 auxiliary LEDs. (I got the UV/Red/White version.) The aux white has 2 brightness levels and the aux red has on, flash and signal. I chose the UV model not for checking currency, etc., but because there is NO better light source for charging lume on watches before I hit the lights.

@@BrockMcGoff It's fantastic. There is more than one iteration of the A8. One, for example, uses blue and amber LEDs. Make sure your'e aware so you can pick what's best for you. But as a budding watch guy, I think the UV model would suit you best.

I can agree with everything on the list EXCEPT that contigo water bottle. It will NOT keep your drink cold for any period of time, especially in the summer months. A good insulated metal water bottle is well worth the money. Bonus is they can also be used as a weapon

Instead of the Casio F105W I recommend the W86. It has the same electroluminescent backlight, it has higher water resistance at 50m and its strap is also more supple.

Pleased to say I’ve got a few of these. Best one is probably a night light. We bought a box of 2 off Amazon, they are circular and have that circle light effect. We mainly bought them because we have an en suite bathroom and it means we don’t have to find our phones in the middle of the night, or switch on the big light if we visit the bathroom! Just a caution with long chargers. They are usually unofficial as I don’t think Apple sell any longer than 2m (not in the UK market anyway) which would be fine but we bought a pack of 3 that were something like 3m or 4m. Loved them for a while but one stopped working completely and another almost caught fire as my wife was using it! Needless to say we binned the remaining one 🤔🤨 I use an electric shaver but mostly just for the bits I’ve missed after wet shaving. I finish off with the electric. I hate shaving anyway so tend to try and string it out as long as possible but I only have to yawn and I grow stubble.
