Torts is exactly what this franchise needed. We completely lost our resilience, fight, and identity from the Giroux, Hartnell, and Briere era of Flyers hockey. Danny knows what "Flyers Hockey" once meant around the league and he is bringing it back. We may not have the right talent quite yet but if the talent comes and we have no foundation or identity it doesn't matter. Look at the Buffalo Sabres for example and all of their high draft pick talent. It takes a lot more than just drafting and signing the best players. I could not be more optimistic about the Flyers future and proud to be a fan of this organization.

Those teams had identity and were pretty good, just always weighed down by 2 or 3 really bad contracts. And if it wasn't the defense playing like pylons, the goalies were Swiss cheese. Never had both good goal tending and good defense at the same time over those years. We are almost out of the bad contract era as I would call it

@@Flyersfan2828 people get tired of hearing about "character" and all that but when you get to the point where you need to develope young talent fast, having character and culture matter. Having a standard that says "even when we're out of it, we're not out of it" will pay dividends, it'll steal them games they otherwise shouldn't be in talentwise. I actually really like the talent on this team provided they take the necessary steps forward in their development. Guys like Foerester, Tippett, York, Drysdale and Frost all have an extra gear or two to get to and by all accounts they've been putting in the work in the off-season. As much as I'm excited for Michkov and Jett and their growth as players, I'm equally excited for those guys because that's really what's going to bring the team to the next level.

You can always pinpoint the fake Flyers fans when they try to say Claude Giroux was the problem. 4th most points in the league since 2010. Crosby, Ovechkin and Kane are the only players above him. You cannot do much playing on lines with Dale Weise and Chris VandeVelde

I think it is more a focus on the team altogether, michkov is a part of that team but a new part. They know how important he is to the future, but it wouldnt be fair to him, or the team around him if they just followed only him for something like this (an exaggeration but you get my point) I think we will see a lot more but having the first episode being about all the core guys who are still here i think was smart
