That was AWESOME. I wish CBS has picked this up for an actual show. To every one who worked on it. Thank you great job.

As a semi- amateur fan production it is quite good, but it is just fan service and unoriginal imitation that often borders on parody. Takei isn't particularly notable (will cut him slack for what this is) and the future scenes with Capt. Sulu and his crew are very weak and unoriginal. I'm sorry, there is nothing here to inspire a new series, or that Takei could be a lead actor at this stage of his career.

Had this Mr Sci Fi had anything to do with, production wise, with STNV? I dislike his intro: it implies He Himself made this entire video.. .
@SYLTales8 күн бұрын
@tehpw7574 I'm unaware of his involvement. The series was made at least ten years ago, during the Golden Age of Fan Films. If you're unfamiliar and like TOS, you _must_ watch the fan series _Star Trek Contines_ . All episodes are on KZbin. I have a playlist that includes all episodes, bloopers, and behind-the-scenes videos, in chronological order. STC was show-run by Vic Mignogna, and was his passion project. As a professional, he was able to involve other professionals. There's a small cadre of voice actors, and guest stars ranging from John DeLancie to Colin Baker. Chris Doohan (James Doohan's son) plays Scotty. The final two episodes, "To Boldly Go ..." provides the series finale we never got. I dare you to not got the chills at one point. You'll know when. The Golden Age of Fan Films was extraordinarily prolific. There are a number of excellent Fan films and series that all hard-core Trekkies like me should watch. 🖖

@@SYLTalesyes, STC is amazing. Mignona has done some regrettable things, unfortunately, which leave me feeling conflicted. But I have to say that STC was AMAZING, and some of the episodes were so good that I would personally consider them canon. And Mignona absolutely NAILS his portrayal of Kirk. He was born to play that role.

@@DawnDavidson don't believe the lies about Vic. Those reports were proven untrue and were made up to tear him down because he earned something the people that made them up thought they deserved. Allana is so beautiful and I loved how she captured the pure innocence and joy of finally seeing the "magical" world of the Enterprise that her father had told her about. To her it must have been like intering a fairy land (considering how she grew up based on Sulu's clothes + swords, etc). And yes I like the actor playing Kirk. He defiently had the mannerisms. Its the little stuff he did + said. This was so much fun to watch even though it was very sad. I had half expected some rare miracle at the very end where Sulu was captain and awaiting his guest. My guess was half correct.

Yes...kind of like the epic promise of Sulu's daughter being beamed onboard fully once the Enterprise broke free from the gravitational field holding her in stasis. His daughter could have been there, but in the end, she never materialized. Symbolizing the parallel between her fate and this could - have - been series.

@@MrSciFi I've seen this episode about a dozen times since it was made and always see something new. I will always feel sad for Grace Lee "Janice Rand" Whitney. Aside form the all-too-common sexual assaults, her addictions and battle with depression doomed her career. There's another, happier world somewhere where she's counted as part of the "big eight" of the original crew. George "Hikaru Sulu" Takei is a sensational actor who seldom had any chance to show what he was capable of. A Twilight Zone episode, "The Encounter," shows us what compelling performances he was capable of from a young age.

I have a tv guide magazine size special edition from the 90's where she tells her story from original series up to the 90's when the article was written. The article was titled "Amazing Grace" because a big part of her story is her that she was able to maker come back to start trek in "the undiscovered country" because she got her life back together by rehabilitation, and more importantly by giving her life to Christ and sharing her story about that with all her fans at all the conventions she went to. That's why she seems so much happier and content in her appearances as commander rand on the excelsior on star trek 6, Voyager, and of course on this video. And she definitely is in a much happier place. You are very right about that sir. 🖖
