This is a great way to make an X block. Minimal waste, and I will oversize and trim any day of the week. Thank you!

I enjoy your videos very much..Your tone is soothing, your tips are specific and helpful and your designs are wonderful. You are a very good teacher. Your pretty face and pleasant voice make watching your videos peaceful and calming. I watch alot of sewing videos, I have a lot to learn and while I enjoy those that try to be funny and entertaining also yours are like the Zen that helps me pay attention to the task at hand. Thank you so much for all of you do. Keep sewing, I'll keep watching.😊

Jessica, if you starch the fabric for the triangles, before cutting, then it may help the fabric not to stretch… therefore making the triangles a little easier to use for those who find using them difficult. A small tip from Great Britain. Have a great day.

Yes! I don't find starch necessary for the triangles but you definitely could use it if you think it helps.

Just wondering if you use an Accuquilt machine. Your fabric pieces look so nice with no fraying. Really enjoys all your videos. Very inspiring!!!

No, I don't. I cut with a ruler and rotary cutter. It does take practice to get really accurate at cutting but once you do, it makes quilting so much easier.

Just wondering, what needle size do you use for piecing, what foot are you using in this video, do you ever change the the pressure on the foot or do you just go with what the machine is preset to? Thanks in advance
@jessica_dayonАй бұрын
I use Schmentz Size 90/14. The foot I'm using is 57D. It is one of the BERNINA 1/4" feet but what I like about this one is that it has a really sturdy metal guide on the side. When I'm piecing a quilt, I turn the pressure on the foot down to 0.

@@jessica_dayon thank you for that information. I have a Bernina B570, I started your 2023 free QAL, had a heck of a time with the first block even with the single hole stitch plate. So I thought I’d ask for technique tips. Much appreciated
