If not, use the blues as your focus color and fill with a lot of neutrals. It'll be beautiful, and he'll love to snuggle with it

I’ve really enjoyed this series! When you first showed all the buckets I wondered if you were crazy to have amassed so many strips, but then we saw your store (which I would love to shop at) and your production rate!! Your efficiency is inspiring and you have so many tips it’s been very worthwhile watching the whole series.

This is the only way I make quilts. I watched a tutorial for a table runner from someone years ago. I figured out how to just enlarge everything to make a quilt.

How big have you made? Do you use wider strips? I might try a large throw. Did you use fusible batting?

I have a longarm so feel it necessary to use it. However, if I were without one I would totally do quilt as you go.

Same here!

@suehorn4182 sorry to butt in, but maybe I can help. I look for patterns using smallish blocks that can be assembled in rows (check out her charm packs series!) and treat the assembled rows like strips. Anything that assembles like a 4 or 9-patch works for me, I don't complete the blocks. I sew the components into rows. 4-patch blocks = 2 rows, 9-patch = 3. If I need more quilting density, I crosshatch with alternating corner to corner chevron zig zags. I make only large throw/twin or smaller. They roll & fit my small throated machine.

Thank you! Great for a baby quilt and so fun with different baby or Christmas or other fabrics. I was also thinking for the trendy quilt coats, you could use this method to make the size of each pattern piece.

Thank you for such a easy way to quilt as you go. Also for the easy instructions to follow. I have lots of fabric, and a lot of leftover strips. That would benefit a quilt made this way. Also I like the fact that you're sewing and quilting it at the same time. Looking forward to your next video.

So many of the fabrics from your scrap bins are a trip down memory lane for me . I’ve used quite a few of them over the years and it’s always fun to remember the quilts they were used in
@amyspanne56295 ай бұрын
And of course, if your scraps are widths other than 2.5", just add them on and the differing widths creates some variety. Good basic pattern.

When trimming I like to leave 1/4” to 1/2” beyond the edge to leave batting that will fill the binding. That way I don’t lose the design into the binding. Also, don’t bother backtacking because you cut it off when trimming.

This is a unique and clever way to construct a quilt very quickly. It could be the Go-To-Quilt for last minute gifts or as a pick me up when you find yourself in a quilting slump. {{ Am I the only one who has slumps? }} 😳😳😳

Can anybody tell me what "homespun" means? Thank you and greetings from Germany
@faithwellman62725 ай бұрын
To me, homespun is 100 percent cotton fabric with a looser weave and small imperfections - like it was woven (spun) at home. It usually comes in plaids and other simple designs and muted colors. Hope that helps.❤❤
