I came across the story of Centralia a couple months back and read up on it. Similar story with Picher, OK. It was also a mining town and the mines made it inhabitable, but there are still a few people that are holding out.

Pennsylvania is beautiful Sydnie! In the Northeast you have the Pocono Mountains and most of Western Pennsylvania is mountains. So much history too! You'd love Gettysburg. Philadelphia and Pittsburgh are great too! Love your videos...Take care and be safe!

Hello Sydnie, I just happen upon your video and enjoyed your content shared, very interesting and relaxing !! I have lived in NYC 15 yrs and LA California and a few 16 yrs places in between for short periods of time but I have spent the majority of my life raising my kids here in beautiful Southwestern Pa. and truly have come to appreciate and cherish the people and the lush landscape, nature that we have here. I can say Pa. and it’s wonderful people have taught me SO very much about LIFE and shown me to appreciate life’s little/simple things and to SLOW down for the first time ever and smell the ROSES and be grateful !

Chick-fil-A really should sponsor you! Every time my wife and I watch one of your episodes and you have Chick-fil-A. That triggers a response in our psyche that we have to make a drive to our nearest Chick-fil-A. Of course we enjoy their chicken, which is far better than any other chicken that we know of! 😊

Thanks for the History lesson Sydnie, I've seen that town in PA on the tv also showing the devastating nature of the fire that got the whole town relocated. Glad to see you back on the road and refreshed from your Vacation with your parents. Thanks for Sharing and stay safe.

That church in Centralia is the inspiration for the church in the horror movie "Silent Hill." In fact, the working title of the film was "Centralia."

Went to Centralia in 2016 before they covered up Graffiti Highway. I pitched a tent in the Odd Fellows cemetery for the night and caught some paranormal activity there on my camera and the two other cemeteries as well. Good trip overall and would go back to explore more. The odor you smelled was probably Sulfur and Methane gas.

It's funny, I have the same general issue with PA that you do. It's plain, most every town looks the same, and the whole place feels a little sad and run down. But flat? Lol, I spent a couple minutes trying to think of a region of PA that doesn’t have at least rolling hills, if not mountains. Maybe Philadelphia and its suburbs, but Pittsburgh is the San Francisco of the east.
