I worked on the combine prototype and production back in 98. John deer power plant and cabs. Neat stuff . Learned so much and set records on part manufacturing at plant. Jimmy adams came by to watch me work and shook him head in approval. Was fun times.

I work at Birdsong Peanuts at a buying point in Sylvester Ga. We dry ours to 10.5%. I run the dryers at night all night. Learned how to drive a tractor and finally loving the job I do.

Love your posts! Peanut farming is something that I knew nothing about before. The wind though, makes listening difficult. Please Ask other u tubers about how to lesson the effects. Great job!!

Should consider converting a set of those LED lights into fog-lights. Yellow lenses work much better in low-vis conditions.

My dad grew up farming in west Texas / eastern New Mexico. How far from friona Texas or Clovis New Mexico are y'all located. I'm definitely gonna show him your videos... He grew up from the age of 8 driving row crop John Deeres on one mile sections... Thanks for providing a modern look to the stories I grew up hearing.

What's a good yield for peanuts? They look thin or was that the edge or am I not understanding?
@conleybanman11 ай бұрын
A good yield is around 6,000 pounds an acre but you definitely don’t achieve that every year
@buddymartin792311 ай бұрын
@conleybanman Gotcha. I was surprised that it's not bushels to the acre! We're all corn, soybeans and wheat so I find it really interesting. That peanut combine must be beast built machine. Looks like it has to deal with a lot of dirt running through it
@conleybanman11 ай бұрын
Built pretty tough yes rocks can go through the combine and doesn’t affect it too much. But it is a weak engine. Sadly they don’t make yield monitors for these combines so you gotta wait till the semis weigh at the scales so that’s why pounds
