Childhood MMO of mine, definitely was fun. I remember an event where Jolly Roger(Main Antagonist) would launch an invasion on one of the two islands(Tortuga/Port Royal) in the game with a massive skeleton army and you had to defeat Jolly Roger before he reached a certain point on the map to win and end the invasion. All players on the server would recieve a notification beforehand about it and wait for the attack, it was like a massive war. Super fun.

Ah I am maxed on this game, I occasionally lookup videos relating to this game and found your channel. This game was one of the most nostalgic games I played, a huge part of this game is farming for legendary weapons and PVP.

played it alot as a lil kid i loved it and then as i started growing up found other games and eventually forgot bout the game. then when i was way older i wanted to check it out only to find out disney stopped it. so to see that fans remade the game is awesome im already downloading and playing it now haha! love it!

I played this game so much as a kid, I remember people making fun of other people for having grey name tags because grey names meant you don't have membership, and you needed membership to continue doing anything past I think level 20. I only reached like level 30 but I played the game since 2007 when the game first came out I remember seeing a commercial for it on tv thats how I discovered the game in 2007

I was a kid in a developing country who just discovered the wonders of the internet back then, but I was too afraid to ask my parents to pay for the game with their credit cards 🤣 Now I'm a grown ass taxpaying adult with a gaming laptop, and I wanna play this game so bad tho it won't be the same experience lol

@@LAdiartos I would do so many chores for $10 and have my mom take me to CVS to look for “school stuff” lol I would buy a game pass card and put the code in for a month of membership. Some months I wouldn’t get any money at all for various reason and I wouldn’t be able to use some of my special weapons or anything LMAO. I remember making friends that I still have to this day. My favorite part of using my voodoo doll, and also doing the ship warfare. I used to be the small ship or the war sloop and just run and shoot other people from distance with the lightning attack and then the blue fire fury ammo that had the face on it lol This game was so freakin fun and it was such a big part of my childhood. I was so addicted lol

they actually do! invasions still happen just as they used to years ago and to add onto that the game is quite literally 1:1 with how it was before it shutdown, but with new content too! its the entirety of the original game with loads of new content with many more updates on the way

I remember playing this as a kid. They had ship v ship competitions. A bunch of us would hop on and compete. My character was Jack Dreadshot. I remember a kid called Station that used to give me issues in those competitions. This takes me back to the good ole’ days before bills

I played the original for a time and loved it. I quite like maritime stuff in general so what was basically an open-world pirate maritime game was just bliss. Downloaded TLOPO in 2019 and, wow, what a wave of nostalgia that was! I played it heaps then got busy with life so didn’t touch it again for months. Then I fired it up again yesterday and, yep, still love it.

Awesome game! And still very active. As soon as you get to any major town you see all the people hanging out which is awesome. I got invited to the guild Halcyon and they were all very cool and helpful! The potion creating it different but pretty fun to do and the little ship repair mini games is always fun. Can’t wait to see end game content! I noticed what you said about enemies not being aggressive. You just walk right past them lol 😂

Loved this game as a kid. Played too many hours into it. I remember when they added the factions of Spain and France and you had to fight either for ship battles to get better loot

The best part of the gambling that Steven didn't mention is that the game doesn't *just* teach you how to gamble. It teaches you how to cheat at it too. You can get cheating gambling cards from any enemy, and you can cheat at blackjack or Poker. And the only rule is to not get caught (using a card that is already in play via other players or the Ais.) Additionally, this game has a really really fun fishing minigame. And at the end of the fishing leveling tree, you can catch legendaries that are literal boss fights for your fishing, and require you to be at a certain location at a certain time with a certain lure. It has you doing stuff like catching your reel with your mouse and manually cranking the sucker in. And you better believe that they can earn you a pretty penny.

Core game of my childhood right here. I kinda just found it after watching the movie with my dad. I didn't have many friends as a kid in that age and time, so I played it a lot. While my english wasnt the best i mustve somehow managed well because I remember vividly doing really good for myself. My mom being a star and also spoiling me a bit, would buy the in-game currency at the time so I could buy cool tattoos and outfits for my character and also deck out my ship. While I wasnt the best player, I could hold my own in the ship pvp and thats where I met this random dude that just kind of took me under his wing. He would invite me and we would drive my ship, I was the driver and he was the gunner. Together we had endless sessions where we dominated the servers we were in. Everyday ending the session with ''More tomorrow. Yes. see you then'' and one faithful day he just didnt come online that day. I would hang out in the bar gambling(even tho I lost most of the time) just...waiting for him. And then another day, and another. But he never came back online. After so long, I too stopped playing. He was my motivation wanting to play, so when he wasnt around anymore I stopped as well. I would pop in now and then through the year to just check if he was online. But no. 64 days since last online. 124 days..223 days etc etc. then i just stopped going back online since I just ended up missing this random person i didnt even know the name off. I suppose thats my ''See you tomorrow - last online 15 years ago'' story. If you're out there GutzSpitter3343. Thank you for an amazing gaming time and amazing memories.

I spend countless hours on this game when I was a teenager. Played it from the launched day till it was shut down. The best part of the game was the community. I made a bunch of friends from this game whom I still talk to today. The pvp was amazing and fun for it time. If they had kept up with the game I could’ve seen it become really big today. This game set standards for future mmo for me and nothing has come close to it.

It is actually a part of the game that if you outlevel an NPC and their name is green they typically don't attack you I believe.

I haven't played this since I was like 8 years old. I never understood the perks, or ship upgrades or quests. Because I was 8 and thought reading in a game was dumb. I'm 25 now and will give it a try. I remember the ship battles being fun. I also remember there was an event back in 2008 or 2009 where skeletons were coming out the ocean and attacking port royal. There must have been dozens of kids on that beach, including myself.

I was a founder in this game cause I made my mom pay for it before it came out. Which basically just gave out gold usernames, but since my dad had custody of us and he lived in the middle of no where with no internet I could only play this every other weekend. Epic times

The Game is Great, some of the Missions are Tricky and can NOT be Completed without the Help of others and that is a bit Frustrating. I have been Playing for a Long Time and I'm a Veteran of the Original Version that was Shut down for Insane Reasons. I like that the Game is very Relaxed and You Don't have to do ALL the Missions, You have the Freedom to just Hang out and Do your Own Thing if You want. 😎💪🏴‍☠

Still no game has quite matched online ship combat how this did for me. Nothing like setting up crew to go fight others, not to mention that the skill gap was very real. If u had a stacked crew u really could fuck everyone up. It was really just perfect minus the controls themselves

Loved the game for the most part. Hated you couldn't jump on vent and chat.. by the time that feature was added..it was glitching out too much to play. L8ved you could change clothing/colors/styles/jewelry/tattoos. We had a whole adult crew. And somewhere a photo of my character exists on the net. Would love to see if they really recreated it.

Loved ships and Pirates of the Caribbean, so this game was for me. What I especially loved about this game was: The unique weapons. For example there was this Voodoo Doll where you could posses someone, run away and cast horrors upon them (the plague, cutting them, mind control, feeding them to locusts, internal-combustion, testicular torsion, ya know kids stuff!) The unique and threating ship designs, especially the galleon and the frigate. Visiting bum-fuck nowhere islands. And there weren't too many pricks (it was mostly kids after all) Although there was one issue I remember. There were quite a few "romantic" young girls who would RP hurt/drown themselves with disturbingly lucid descriptions to prove their love to me, even though I rarely ever spoke in the chat. My retarded and disgusting 10y/o self had enough brain cells (4, _maybe_ 5) to know the best thing to do was to report them. Sorry of the paragraph.

You can get armour for ships apparently but not for your character.
