What also helps the Ita winrate is the fact, that I rarely see them alone in a match. Normally when someone plays italian tanks, they are in a squadron with at least one other play that is playing a different nation

Great video and commentary. Here's my thoughts on the subject: Italy is primarily played by more dedicated players who tend to play well and as you said, understand its shortcomings more as well as not being inundated with severe amounts of premium players, casuals and just generally low skill people who buy the Click-Bait or KVT, S238, etc etc, who bring down win rates by their lack of skill and lack of line ups. In a way, the high win rate is unfortunate because it signals to Gaijin not to address Italy's top tier issues which should be addressed. For the MBT line, while you suggested something like Spain, I wouldn't mind this (way more than Hungary tbh) but it is ignoring the fact Italy has a decent amount of yet to be added additions as well as a lot of incomplete vehicles to be buffed. As far as improving the already existing vehicles, fixing the Ariete's hull armor and the WAR kit would be decent changes to the tank; not revolutionary but enough that it would elevate the Ariete's poor armor to more "mid" armor which can add a lot of value especially with awkward MBT shots and autocannon fire. The WAR should be improved to stop mango which it was designed to do as well be applied to the AMV with PSO (one of the main objectives to the improved engine was the ability to add both armor packages at the same time); this along with some roof mounted MG42s would make the AMV a more worthwhile tank currently and not some barebones sidegrade. The Freccia should be given it's JANUS commander sight which, paired with it's SPIKES would elevate the vehicle further. Something like the OTOMATIC should be downtiered possibly to 10.3 as it's really not suitable to top tier. Now as far as additions go,; we could see the Ariete AMV PT2 which would be an AMV with better optics, gen 3 thermals and faster turret traverse, the B2 Centauro which should be added probably next patch as it was somewhat leaked and was probably supposed to be added last patch, the Ariete Hitfact Mk2 which is the B2 turret (autoloader) on an Ariete hull, down the line we could see the Leopard 2A8 as that's been ordered for the Italian military, the Dardo and Freccia OWS variants with unmanned turrets, 30mm cannons and spikes. For SPAA I could see a few possible options like a Polyphem missile carrier which is both anti-tank and anti-air (30 km range!), the DRACO prototype which is an updated OTOMATIC which is smaller, on a Centauro I hull and can shoot guided DART munitions as well as possibly an ADATS on a Centauro frame which is a moreso a paper vehicle but is not too outside the realm of possibility if Gaijin is limited. As for close air support, I think just waiting for the Eurofighters is the only real option as well as the fact that Gaijin needs to decompress BRs which is a whole other can of worms.

Italy has sooo many vehicles left to be added now that Hungary is a sub nation of theirs. 40M Turàn (both variants), Strela, Gripen, Eurofighter, F35, Leo 2A7HUN, upgraded Ariete, Cent 2, Leopard 2A8. I think the Hungarians also used the Panther during WW2 but I have to research that one more

Yes we used it. The Romanians switched side so the Panthers what the Germans sendt them got stoped in Hungary and with German permission we used if i remember correctly 5(edited) Panther with great success ,but Germans wants the Panthers back so we give them back. The biggest problem with the model for the ariete is its missing 300mm of composite armour, as it is right now it would weigh closer to 47t irl but in the game its 52t for no reason

Hello Justin, thank you very much for this video! As an italian main it always warm my heart to see a big creator using these vehicles. I think the main issue of the italian tanks tree is that it is very much unforgiving compared to some other nations, you got to play your vehicles as ambush/support tanks and prioritise good map positioning as most of time you'll get eaten in one shot by quite everything. So I also think that's why not a lot of players do play italy in top tier, but when seeing one they rarely do bad, the players that still play italy top tiers are for the biggest part, experienced players. As for the KF41 I truly think it is a waste of time grinding it for players, I personally prefer to stay with the dardo to go with the freccia. So yeah completely agree with the things you say!

I would highly recommend the an grb line up that consist of: ariete (p), freccia and the AMX. AMX is a very powerfull CAS plane and the ariete (p) is good for its br, + I gave you the freccia to play with.😉

3 things: 1 You're absolutely right that the spike change was a massive nerf. SPIKEs were not good per se before the change but theyre dramatically worse now. Before theyd go for the driver optic 100% of the time (even if side on) now they may miss the vehicle conpletely. 2. The mistral change isn't working right. Sometimes the missiles just dont even pull more than 2 Gs then other times they definitely pull 16 or more. Something is wrong 3. The otomatic's locking radar is a band that many things (such as russian helis) cant detect. So feel free to lock them

to fix the Italian tech tree only one thing would be enough, stop the gaijin's unjustified hatred towards this tech tree...a few new vehicles or small modifications to existing vehicles would be enough to fix it...the Ariets mount the composite armor of a 2A4 but it has less armor than the 2A4 on war thunder...or for example the VBM Arrow which has been deprived of the commander's optics (JANUS) which would be enough to use the spikes more easily

I noticed recently, the Arietes have blowout panels when that isnt possible (from what i know). It destroyed my main ammo except for the 4 random rounds and im perfectly fine. It kind of glitches out the ariete but hey youre alive!

@@arrcadedus2293 2C38 "Derivacia PVO" and OTOMATIC have +/- same gameplay. But 2c38 can take lot of apdsf when oto took only 12 apdsf. OTO br is 11.3, 2c38 is 10.0. OTO have more move speed, but it scale is bigger than 2C28. Gaijin think OTO effective as "Pancir-S" (at close ranges yes (heli, CASing planes), but at distance more than 3 km plane is very hard target), but his br will be maximum 10.7 if look to 2C38 (or up 2c38 br, or down OTO br) "Derivacia-PVO" is one of most selling premium tank in soviet tree. One time I saw a full team with 2c38 in they first respawn. And a lot of players want to put it higher BR (it stay at 10.0 more than 2 years, when OTO nerfs)

The problem with KF41 missiles is that the launcher is angled upwards. It just doesn't work on most maps. Freccia doesn't have this problem. This M1 KVT kill is the example. Wouldn't work on KF41.

Surprising that the ariete AMV holds the highest KPG and the second highest KD out of top tier, albeit the datas were definitely inflated(as proven by the Russian guy). I mean, I often has 5ks to 6ks per game on the AMV and a handful of 8k+ matches in the centauro 120, pretty rare, but there are times that I found myself in a carrying position. It feels way too ungenuine to bully people at 10.3, as it then plays like playing Sweden or Russia at top tier and winning without skills.

Italy has been getting a much needed refresh of its tech trees, sadly the top tier ground tech tree was given IFVs with gimmick missiles the Dardo is still better at a lower BR while all the Arietes were nerfed just for the fun of it. The win rate for Italy is simply because every Italian main knows they are punching up and there is no luxury like armour to allow us to hold W into the enemy spawn, while you're all playing a combat game the Italian has been grinding 8 ranks of survival horror.

Technically it cant apparently. The dart is stored sepererately from the rest of the ammo. I heard someone say its too long to fit in the regular autoloader. HOWEVER, we have the 2s38 which can run full dart and we dont know if that is true. They might as well give the Oto full dart by now. Its needs it to be 11.3

So Gaijin increased progressively their BR. First at 6.7, they ended up at 7.7. Instead of fighting very early cold war tanks, they ended up fighting stabilized platforms with APFS-DS rounds. Some of them being immune to their 100mm shell frontally (mostly russian MBTs like the T-55 AM-1). People that were not super good at the game got CLAPPED and just stopped playing it. People that were able to play the game well continued to get good results. That drove the winrates up. Gaijin thought about increasing the BR, but at this point they couldn't put those tanks at 8.0 without it being obvious. So they increased the repair cost. They increased the repair cost again. and again. and again. and again. What started as a 6.7 tank with a repair cost of around 6k stock ended up being a 7.7 tank with a stock repair cost of around 18k and a spaded repair cost just shy of 25k. What did that do? That made the people that were okay at the game stop playing it. Only people that were still able to play that tank were either people with a shit load of money in game and / or exrtremely good players that were able to either not die, or get enough kills in a game to still be able to pay off the repair cost without loosing money. That of course, increased the K/D ratio of that tank to completely absurd levels, and the winrate of France at 7.7 at that time was higher than any other nation in this BR range. Only because the only people playing those tanks were the absolute best players in the game that didn't have their stats brought down by inexperienced / worse players like pretty much everfy other tank in teh game. I'm sure if you check the winrates of every minor nation at top tier in WT right now, those that have a hard as fuck lineup to play, I'm pretty sure those get a damn good winrate just because the population of players of those nations is overall just abtter players

Centauro 120 is the goat. Ariete PSO is my go-to ariete because at least you can survive SOME autocannons or heat ammunition, which is better than nothing and the Harrier is way better than tornado. It might not be supersonic but you get AGMs to destroy SPAAs more safely (when they decide to work of course), you get access to Zunis, which are great for low altitude CAS even at top tier, Aim-9Ms and good speed, climb rate, acceleration and maneuverability. It's not an F-16C or a Gripen but hey. It gets the job done. The spike helicopter is overrated. I have an average of around 12 spike launches/kill, meaning i have to rearm at least once just to get a kill. They're great against other helicopters but other than that you're better off using Hellfires. Other than that, freccia is inconsistent with the Spikes but the cannon is great, for which I in fact use the dardo woth Tow2Bs instead of the freccia. Way more reliably damages opponents, even the tankiest swedish strvs. Basically you have decent CAS capabilities, good flanking/sniping vehicles but you have no exceptional vehicle. The best thing in the lineup is the Centauro 120, which is the best AFV in the game hands down, but generally speaking it's still nothing exceptional considering what your opponents have.

Leopards need a nerf or a rework or just take off spall liners from the game, I mean they don’t even work on any tank that isn’t the leopards, it’s ridiculous that 1 on 1 the leopards can kill any tank in the game with one shot while the same cannot be said for its counterparts and in situation when it’s hull down it’s unkillable unless you overpreassure the roof with HE which many nations don’t have

The state is depressing as our military IRL. Ye, we have some good stuff, as hardware and people in the various Regiments, Brigades and such of the Army, Navy and Air Force, but there is very little as to hope for the WT counterpart; as for true top tier vehicles there are just the final model of the AMV (renamed "C2" but honestly is truly a "C1.5"...), the B2 Centauro and what Hungary can snatch up in the future. We have firmed an agreement to produce/get the Leopard 2A8 but we are still too far from a true Leopard 2A8ITA (or IT). We'll see, for sure nothing of game breaking will happen for us, not as a minor nation😶
